OT: flooding in Toronto last week

Post by James_E »

We got some crazy rain. Cars were floating around and hitting each other near my wife's office. Floating dumpsters were playing pinball off cars.

My wife got some pictures of a street getting washed out (Finch). They are at the link below. Check them out in numerical order to see the flooding progress.

$5million and about 4 months work just to fix this one spot.

Detroit begs to differ. Whenever I go over there the entire street system seems to be one big detour.

I'll use my first post here to chime in and say that being caught in the middle of this flood was a crazy experience.

Marble-sized hail crashing on my window along with 3 feet of water in some places made for an interesting ride home to say the least.

Where are you in TO fanatic?

I live in Richmond Hill (north, almost Aurora) and work in Markham.

I was in Toronto for a wedding (family in Thornhill) during the flooding.

Been out here in Vancouver for a few years but making the big move back home next week.

Will definitely be nice to catch some Jays and Raps games on a regular basis (not so sure about the Raps though  )
