This really does swing my interest towards saving up for a ps3.

I really only play a few games each year- baseball, winning eleven, football, rally and maybe college hoops.

Getting MLB06 and WE for the PS3 sounds like all I would need.

I'll be reading these boards for impressions before picking it up.

I also have a buddy who just had a kid, so I might just grab his ps2 and play mlb if 2k doesn't come through this year with a solid effort.

I'm already the black sheep of my sports buddies for liking soccer instead of our beloved Maple Leafs...Might as well add rugby to the repetoire.

Does anyone know of any online sources for learning about the game/strategies? I will try to catch a game on tv for sure, but would love to read up about it too.

I also love this game from my brief time with it, however I need some education now to reallly take it to the next level.

I set up an account a few days ago just for this purpose...Only took a few minutes.

I only really care about the qualifying tournament anyways- not sure why they even made this new version.

Either $5 or pride is okay with me.

The $55 won't be much of a motivating factor when compared to the fun of just competing, etc...

I'm also cool with playing either all MLB or one league- plus if guys can't draft tomorrow night, I wouldn't mind an extra week to prepare...

What's the learning curve like with Rugby? I know practically nothing about the strategies of the sport but am really intrigued by all of the feedback here.

Thanks Dave, Totally forgot about Baseball Prospectus- definitely worth a look. I just love how baseball sites have none of the flash of basketball or other sporting publications. Usually just a tonne of charts with stats dating back 100+ years. Truly the super-geek's dream. Good luck to your Twins ...
