Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II

EDIT: I found some. Fun game so far.

Does anyone have decent controller settings for project cars 2? Thought I’d try it out ... .

Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II

PK, Funny thing, I messed with WRC 8 again and couldn't quite find a sweet spot, so I scrolled back through this thread and picked up MXGP Pro (if I can't mountain bike in the winter this is the next best thing, sorta, right?), and it's a ton of fun. I think I had MXP 2 at one point, but it was just...

Re: Racing Sim Thread, Part II

PK, loooong time since I've been on here, but I was trying to get back into WRC8 (which just never clicked with me because of the twitchy XBOX handling - I can't swing a wheel in my house). Can you post those settings or send me in the right direction? Thank you

Re: Grid Autosport

Had a little time with this game now. Not sure if anyone else is playing, but thought I'd share a few thoughts: Good Handling is great. Cars are unique and fun to drive. I haven't delved much into setups. AI is very good, although I have a few complaints in the bad section. I like the aggression (at...

Re: NHL 13

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll have to try it. There is a lot to like about 14, but some of the frustrations are a bit much. And I get the impression EA is pretty much done with support.

Re: NHL 13

Quick questions, because I am a little frustrated with 14 and did not own 13. How is the board play? In 14, I feel board play is very titled toward the CPU. The CPU seems to support the puck much better, while my guys hold a freaking coffee klatch every time I've got someone pinned. Combined with th...

Re: F1 2013

That is good to hear. I know after a few sessions at Brands Hatch with the classics I was competing on a fairly even keel speed wise, minus some maddening inconsistency on my part. And yes to the chicanes. For some reason I have trouble softpedaling the exits when the AI is able to hammer down. Same...

Re: F1 2013

Well then, I suppose I feel better. The good news: It can be done. The bad: I still suck. But, I haven't played a Codemasters F1 game prior to this year's, so I think I just need some seat time.

That PSX controller does look pretty cool.

Re: F1 2013

As I suspected, it's just me, sucking. For some reason while I've always been pretty good with heavier cars where you sort of feel your way through the turn, the F1 games with their precise braking points and full turn in (I can't think of a technical way to describe that ... I think it's the absenc...

Re: F1 2013

Quick question: Is anyone playing with the controller and having any success? (I would love a wheel, but haven't sprung for one yet) I am just brutal with the pad. Tried Melbourne in career with the Williams and can barely crack mid-1:30s.

Re: Nascar: The Game-Inside Line

I know there are some issues with pit stops and cars reentering ... but I was curious if anyone had kept at it with this game and how the actual racing AI and experience (minus the pitting issue) compare to NASCAR 09 (or just compare to other games in general). I've heard that AI cars have trouble "...

Re: NBA 2k13

Thanks for the feedback. I played the demo a bit last night and found it pretty intuitive. I tend to use the button to shoot too, except in the post; but I found it pretty helpful to use the stick on drives too. The one thing I did like (and this could be related to the difficulty level), was that d...

Re: NBA 2k13

I play primarily offline. Are there any significant improvements over 2k12 that warrant spending the extra $40? I play pretty close to sim and I know basketball well enough, but 2k games have always felt a bit clunky to me in the past.

Re: Forza 4

I'm not real familiar with Forza's race structure (former PS3 owner thinking about a 360) ... can you race an ALMS season (or something that feels like one) with the ALMS pack?

Re: FOR SALE

PS3 slim, about one year old. I keep it in excellent condition. $225.

Also, I've got The Show 10 ($25) and NHL 11 ($35), both in perfect condition.

I'll negotiate, of course, especially if you want the whole caboodle.

Re: NPR fires Juan Williams for speaking his mind

for the public record: I wasn't offended in the least, just wanted to respond to the whole thing getting a little heavy. Whatever NPR's reasons, I don't think they had any idea how it would blow up in their face. But really, in the end, I think I was trying to say "don't panic." Juan Williams ain't ...

Re: NPR fires Juan Williams for speaking his mind

I like that you've said this isn't a political post. It certainly doesn't have to be, and I don't think Nazi comparisons are within the realm of any reasonable political discussion. I don't really care what Juan Williams says, but I do care that public conversation on these issues remains above the ...

Re: NPR fires Juan Williams for speaking his mind

I don't understand the obsession with sodomy amongst the "no PC!" set, but a swastika? That's just dumb. Painfully, painfully so, and irrelevant in a discussion about the meaningless world of political talk show punditry. And NPR has been looking for a reason to fire Juan Williams since he started s...

Jack, because I haven't played more than one pre-patch rental of 2k10, I'm still interested in your take on the direct comparisons between the games, which I can't get in the separate threads, and which get a bit bickery at OS. Specific issues: player control in Live seems good to me most of the tim...

I like Live much more than 2k this year, but it took me awhile to get to that point. Playing on all-star, although challenging to the point of madness (especially in the beginning) helps. The patch helps (a lot with some of the real weird stuff, although there will still be the occasional WTF). Rati...

Jack, I'd also recommend giving cabrillo's sliders and roster edits at Operations Sports a try (takes about 15 minutes to edit -- EA wisely built in a function to do global edits per team -- would have been wiser to do global edits for all players at once, but hey, you take what you can get). I'd av...

Who cares?

If the game is good in two weeks, I'm not going to avoid it because they didn't let me play a dumbed-down, no-slider, three-minute version with Pitt and Det.

It's been an exciting, dramatic, and unpredictable Tour already, which is due in some part to a host of exciting, new, young riders, Team Columbia's attacking thus far (not likely to be persist, but exciting anyway), and Astana's team dramatics. There is nothing, absolutely nothing bad (for fans) ab...
