On a side note. I just for some reason cannot believe for a second that the people at EA Sports would take the time or money to "fix" a game that they are going to be "giving" away.

I'll take a good Tactical Shooter over a Good Twitch shooter any day of the week.... and twice on Sundays.

I'll be playing GR2 a hell of a lot more than Halo 2. IMO, HALO is the most overhyped / overrated game this holiday season. Hell this year... hell maybe ever. I just don't see what all the hoopla is about that game.

OH yeah. It was those countless numbers of resolutions that they felt were working.

Well, after several hours I was able to create an account. Then it took 15 minutes to authenticate my cd key. Then it took 20 minutes to unlock HL2 files. Now it is taking several minutes to update HL2. If this is the future of PC gaming I will never buy another pc game in my life.

This game is flat out nuts. I pretty much agree with everything DChaps said, but I don't think I'll be getting bored with it. I'm pretty much still in awe.

Newness factor or not, I have not felt this way about a new game in a very long time.

I've noticed something lately that I haven't seen before. I've never received an invite from a friend while playing a different game before until recently.

I always thought that while playing EA Sports games the friendslist was pretty much internal to EA Sports.

I caved and picked up the "Silver" package off of steam. Played some CS Source for a bit. I never played the orginal CS that much, but it seems like it could be fun.

What little time I've spent with it gave me the impression that this leans heavily on the arcade side and team work / strategy doesn ...

They are for all intents and purposes the same game. However, the same game runs much smoother on the XBOX. I'm telling you right now, the game chugs a little bit on the PS2. No too much, and it's mostly during the play-calling screen or when it tries to load an instant replay, but it IS noticeably ...

P.S.: Gators is right about punt and kickoff returns for human players, though. I think I've broken one kickoff return past the 35 in umpteen offline games of ESPN NFL 2K5. The human team's special team blockers create no wedge or holes at all on returns.

Without hesitation I recommend the XBOX version over the PS2 version. This coming from a guy who sticks up for the PS2 for sports games due mainly for the controller.
