I do both but its incredibly hit or miss, am I doing something wrong?

How come when I´m playing defense and the opposing RB busts out for a run my guys won´t tackle him downfield? no matter how many times I pound the square button it won´t work, am I supposed to do something beforehand or is it a glitch?

I love Jerry Remy from the Red Sox telecasts, but I get the feeling Fox or ESPN is gonna snatch him up soon. My favorite though has to be Gil Santos, he´s so good that when I´m watching a Patriots game I mute the TV and crank the radio to listen to him.
