Re: Kicking The Tires On A New TV...Advice Needed

getting rid of youtube tv. increased monthly cost plus i don't watch it much other than local news channels.

I'm happy with MLB TV + Prime + Hulu/Disney/HBO . I also like Tubi for movies which is ...

Re: Anyone dabbling with Nintendo Switch 2?

Supposedly in handheld mode, performance comparable to PS4 Pro.

Games seem sparse now. Should be different by September, though $80 games?

Re: Kicking The Tires On A New TV...Advice Needed

Well I would try to get HDMI 2.1.

And they're not all the same.

Some HDMI has 40 Gbps bandwidth, others are 48 Gbps bandwidth.

Unless you plan to replace the TV if you get a next gen console or a higher end gaming PC.

Re: Kicking The Tires On A New TV...Advice Needed

I haven't really looked at the low end models so I can't say how they compare.

Yeah I've heard of complaints about Google TV being sluggish even on mid-price (over $1000) Sony TVs because they use cheap Mediatek processors.

One thing to consider is that a lot of TVs don't have the fastest HDMI 2.1 ...

Re: Kicking The Tires On A New TV...Advice Needed

I’ve personally never seen TCL TVs.

They’ve made some waves in recent years touting mini LED TVs with thousands of zones which may make the picture quality competitive with OLeD.

But those TVs would be more in the $1500-2000 and above range.

Costco has a great return policy so you can try it. At ...

$300?

So probably limited to 50-55 inches?

Vizio was bought by Walmart so Costco probably wouldn't have them.

Maybe some cheap Chinese brands, TCL or obscure brands.

For some of their 4K HDR content, I might buy for a month or two.

The Venu service was supposed to to be sports only and expected to cost $40-50.

But Fubo sued for antitrust and they settled by having Disney acquire Fubo. They will offer a Disney and Hulu bundle with Fubo, supposedly.

Venu isn’t going to happen and it was going to be weak because it wouldn’t ...

Actually I switched back and forth between tennis and the Warriors game, just saw him walking into the locker room.

Then Zverev said the crowd shouldn’t be hard on him for withdrawing. Sounded like a sudden decision but maybe he suddenly felt badly.

No he didn’t go down there to withdraw just a ...

Djokovic looked good most of the first set of the semi final and apparently lost the first set tie break and withdraws or withdrew before losing the first set.

Commentators were saying it looked like he was trying to avoid long rallies by using drop shots to shorten the points and the match.

Weird ...

In the past year, both the men's and women's #1 ranked players have had drug tests showing banned substances.

Alcaraz beats Djoko in straight sets at Wimbledon, second straight.

Djoko was hobbled by recent knee injury but he's also 37. He may be at where Federer was the last couple of years in his career, able to contend for the majors but can't quite break through and injuries become more frequent ...

Djokovic ungracious as usual after winning his match in Wimbledon.

Yeah fans often root against him, wonder why.

Contrast that to a new crowd favorite, Jasmine Pollini, who’s always smiling, playing the best tennis of her career relatively at a late stage. She’s not likely to be a champion but ...

Alcaraz survives a 3-round match vs. Frances Tiafoe in 5 sets, having to win the 4th and 5th sets, the 4th on tiebreaker.

How was Tiafoe ranked so low that he had to play the 3rd seed so early?

Carlos celebrates individual points a little too much. Maybe he needs it to keep him motivated or its ...

Didn't see a newer thread.

First match of Euro 24 in 10 minutes.

It's mid day out here in the West Coast. I don't recall previous Euros being broadcast during the middle of the weekday, only on weekends.

For the WC they may have to start some matches during the day as well, at least in the Group ...

Haven’t been watching the French Open. Nadal got beat early and Joker has a knee injury which forced him to withdraw and may keep him out of Wimbledon as well.
