getting rid of youtube tv. increased monthly cost plus i don't watch it much other than local news channels.

any good cheaper alternatives that have come up the last few months that have local news channels?

Well I would try to get HDMI 2.1.

And they're not all the same.

Some HDMI has 40 Gbps bandwidth, others are 48 Gbps bandwidth.

Unless you plan to replace the TV if you get a next gen console or a higher end gaming PC.

I haven't really looked at the low end models so I can't say how they compare.

Yeah I've heard of complaints about Google TV being sluggish even on mid-price (over $1000) Sony TVs because they use cheap Mediatek processors.

I’ve personally never seen TCL TVs.

They’ve made some waves in recent years touting mini LED TVs with thousands of zones which may make the picture quality competitive with OLeD.

But those TVs would be more in the $1500-2000 and above range.
