Yeah it's funny, but GPL has several turns on the tracks that I call "fall off the track" curves. The big loop at the Glen is definitely one. Almost every turn at Kyalami is one too!

Kyalami takes a lot of practice to get consistent with - the off camber first couple of corners always kick my butt.

If we just want to go for maximum comfort and a 'get-to-know-you' session, I recommend the Glen since there will probably fewer FUPM (F-ups per minute) there.

Btw, what's the race schedule like? Is Kyalami the first race? If so, maybe we could have the DSP server set to run Kyalami so we could practice together late at night. Right now it's just the Glen, so I've not been logging into the server.

It's good to dice with the AI cars for practice. The main thing is to be aware that network lag can really hose you if you're side by side in the middle of a corner. Just a bit of lag can create contact where none existed. So it's generally better to pass in a straight line or at least be on opposit...

Terry in that Eagle is gonna be tough to beat. Anyone know of a GPL method of adding weight to a car to handicap someone?

Another lesson learned in the life of Randy: Don't make big decisions under the influence of red wine! I was really feeling low last night and shouldn't have just bailed like that. I would definitely like to stay in the league and I don't want to bail on Don who seems like he'll be a great teammate....

Problem is that I'm using my development machine for GPL, which means that there is a Loopback adapter (Oracle) and a VPN adapter, both of which were showing up ahead of my 'real' IP address in the dropdown list. I thought the bandwidth patch was just for dial-up connections or when you get a car mismatch of some kind, neither of which apply.

I'll apply it if it's harmless and maybe get lucky, it just seemed to me that it was oriented towards dial-up..
