Get an Intel Mac and you can run Windows XP via Boot Camp seamlessly. That's not what I am seeing. There are lots of issues with both Boot Camp and Parallels. I'm sure that they run most programs just fine. But the whole thing falls apart if the one thing you MUST run doesn't run properly or worse ...

Have you guys looked at the "multiple choice madness" section of GPL Rank? There's a [Statistics] Button there that will show you, for all types of cars or just yours, what the spread is of laptimes that were submitted. It's a good way to benchmark where you stand in relation to the rest of the worl...

>> Good run Randy, you WERE putting the pressure on more than you know.>> Well, coming from you, that's high praise. Thanks :) >> My strategy was just to build a lead and then sit on it. The former was much easier than the latter. My quickest lap was a 1:22.8 back on lap 8, and then I had to dial it...

Awesome drive there, Terry. I was hoping to 'inherit' a win if you made an unforced error. Unfortunately for me, you drove a smooth, consistent race. My Std Dev might have been noticeably better were it not for the spin off the track on the last lap trying ot catch you. It's pretty clear to me that ...

Oh well, that's the fun of it. We can try something and if it doesn't work out how we would hope, we can try something else... At any rate, I was pleased to see I didn't totally suck last night, seein' as it was my first time with you all and I didn't know whether I'd just be shotgun bait or not. An...

It might or it might not. Your statement that downed players are quickly revived or finished is true. The questions I would then ask is "why is that so" and "what happens as a result of that". I would answer - the reason is that people bum rush the downed person's position. If they are the enemies o...

Okay, I'm spamming the dang thread. Sorry. ;) I'd definitely be warming up to execution with a longer revive time. I'd say -- set both of 'em to max -- 60 seconds.. And see what happens in the game. 60 seconds would take them out of the fight and allow them to become the focal point of contested ter...

Looks like we can tweak it for Execution too: "Execution: Same strategy applies as to warzone, except one HUGE difference: the opponent that downs you needs to be a couple feet away from you to kill you. ANY KILL FROM THIS RANGE IS AN EXECUTION, REGARDLESS of the weapon involved. If you are down, ta...

Found this via google: "Warzone: In warzone, a single shot when you are down will eliminate you for the remainder of the round. If you are down, tapping "A" will SLOW down the time frame in which you "bleed out", and die if you teammates do not revive you. This timeframe is set by the host, and can ...

What I always see happening in warzone is that once someone is down, he is as good as dead because the person who downed him, however far away he is, just needs to shoot a few more rounds into him to finish him off. So, while technically reviving is still functional, it is never useful because even...

"Quick, guys, suppress those guys over there so I can run out and save Scoop before he dies!" Yup, you nailed it. The key words "suppress" and "cover" mean much less in Execution than they do in Warzone. I love the idea of yelling "cover me" and diving into rescue a fallen teammate while my guys lay...

Hey, I need cover while I go revive Rob (again  )" or "Hey, I'll cover you, go finish him off." How would that cover help if shooting at a distance was no real threat? "Cover me" is a meaningless phrase in Execution. (Unless by "cover me" you mean, follow two steps behind me and nail the guy ...

Just did a bit of google searching to clarify my understanding of the rules given Rob's response. Wikipedia's entry says: "Warzone mostly follows the standard Team Deathmatch archetype, with each team trying to eliminate the other. When players are downed they can only get back up when an ally reviv...

Thanks for getting me in last night guys! FUN AS HELL!!! Two classic moments last night...mine and Rob's "double stomp" to finsih of someone and the Teal/Zeppo's "double tag" to end the match!!! Classic! Actually, I was the one you double stomped with :) We both hit it at the same time and stomped ...

Couldn't disagree more. Revival is one of the coolest aspects of the game, and Warzone totally eliminates it from the game. Does it? My understanding is that this is a configurable setting, where you can get a down followed by a bleed-out period. (You can tap the A repeatedly to slow it down and bu...

Yep, I made it finally. Had to cool my heels for awhile though waiting for an opening, but I guess I just need to respond faster to poker night threads. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the games were execution. That sort of forces a rush mentality, because you cannot kill the guy from...

An Update for those who might care:

There are some great pics of hardcore mode on the 360, showing the car interface with slip angles, suspension compression, and g's. Kinda neat. Check it out.

1. One, I never drove with a standard transmission EVER in console games. That's a big, but needed, adjustment for me. I'm having trouble with proper shift points, both up and down. I would recommend trying to err on the side of a higher gear and not downshifting til you HAVE to. There's just so muc...

PK, Maybe it's the car? Have you tried Ferraris? They are considered fast AND well-behaved. Is the problem just consistency (e.g. not falling off the road), or is the problem that you feel like you're smooth and fast but the laptimes aren't reflecting it? Maybe you should do a few hotlaps and send u...
