Oh interesting. My almost 5 year old can navigate a few easier games like Hydro Thunder...but has trouble with the more complex. Seems like that feature will be awesome in our house if I can get my hands on a Switch.Dave wrote:Also a fan of the smart steering, or whatever it's called, it will allow my 3-year old to play with us and stay on the course.

I was thinking perhaps a relevant platform like PS4 of XB1 or even PC. You know something with an actual user base.Naples39 wrote:Like Wii U?Danimal wrote:Really all I want to play is Zelda, they should release it on another platform.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Just got a switch locally off craigslist...w/ the Target receipt, 350 bucks. Can't beat that I suppose, given their scarcity. That, Zelda, a Pro Controller and Mario Kart on Friday, and I'll be good. LOL. Showed my son some videos and he's stoked.

The Switch has sold 2.74 million units in under a month. That's pretty darn impressive.

That's worldwide, which is pretty damn telling about how many launch units they had. That's a pathetic number of units available.sportdan30 wrote:The Switch has sold 2.74 million units in under a month. That's pretty darn impressive.

Played 8 50cc races and won two cups. Game looks and performs great on the handheld. Looking forward to playing it on the big screen this evening.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Def agreed. It looks fantastic in handheld mode. I'm just hoping I can play w/ three people on the tv. Two joy cons and a pro controller. That way the whole family can play.sportdan30 wrote:Played 8 50cc races and won two cups. Game looks and performs great on the handheld. Looking forward to playing it on the big screen this evening.
Re: Nintendo Switch
Does the multiplayer portion of the game have any concept of skill levels or progression? Are there leagues you can advance through on-line as you get better? Or is it just "one and done" multiplayer races over and over?sportdan30 wrote:Picking up Mario Kart 8 today! Hopefully some of us will be able to race together.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Don't know about the other modes but tonight my family was doing the little 4 race tournaments and you unlock more cars and power ups and stuff as you collect the coins. I know there is a multiplayer Grand Prix but didn't fire that up yet.Leadfoot5 wrote:Does the multiplayer portion of the game have any concept of skill levels or progression? I still have little interest in the Switch but the $200 Gamestop trade in has me tempted.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Had a lot of fun this weekend playing Mario Kart with my son via split screen on Grand Prix. The majority of the tracks are really creatively designed and fun. There's only a couple I didn't necessarily care for.
Played away from the big screen and it was just as enjoyable on the handheld. Table top mode, which I don't play often really is cool when using the pro controller as well. I'm not a fan of the joy cons, especially with this game.
Online was flawless and smooth, but I got my butt kicked as I thought would be the case.

Can't wait for NBA Playground on the Switch next Tuesday. It's going to be nice to be able to take this game on the go.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Thanks for the tip but I went to a few local Gamestops and no one has them in stock. Kind of hard to offer a trade in on something they don't have.Rodster wrote:$200 trade in for an XONE, PS4, Wii U, New Nintendo 3DS.Danimal wrote:What trade in?Rodster wrote:I still have little interest in the Switch but the $200 Gamestop trade in has me tempted.

Re: Nintendo Switch
I've watched a few reviews thus far for the Switch. Overall, it sounds pretty positive. Online obviously will be patched in within the next few days. The only negative is that the game's resolution is under 720p when undocked. That is disappointing to hear, but at least it gives me the portable option. I don't think I would play this game nearly as much if I bought it solely for the PS4 or Xbox One.Murph wrote:https://youtu.be/GWstvGcYe0Q

Re: Nintendo Switch
Looks like NBA Jam updated.
Never heard of the developer but maybe there's similar people involved.

Re: Nintendo Switch
My friends list on the Switch is decidedly not pro sports. This will be an XB1 buy.
Is the Switch Store up? My wife is wanting some old games, like Mario Sunshine. Will that be a thing?

Re: Nintendo Switch
Maybe someday, but there aren't any classic Nintendo games yet. All Neo Geo crap so far.Aristo wrote:Is the Switch Store up? My wife is wanting some old games, like Mario Sunshine. Will that be a thing?
As for NBA Playgrounds - it's awesome. It's the perfect handheld game. Once they get online working, it'll be fun at home too. Def NBA Jam w/ some newer functionality (like opening player packs, etc) and graphics. Updated rosters and classic players. It's cool as hell. Def worth 20 bucks.
Re: Nintendo Switch
I might double dip for the Switch at some point. But this feels more like a couch game than a mobile game. We really use our switch as a home console 99% of the time. But if I am taking with me on a trip, I might buy some games I already own on the the XB1 or PS4.
But this weekend we are going to New Orleans, but my daughters coming home from college. So the Switch stays home so she can play Zelda and Mario Kart with her friends. My guess is she will use it off the base much more than us.
And yeah, NBA Playgrounds looks like a blast.

Re: Nintendo Switch
Because there are so few games is exactly why I chose NBA Playgrounds on Switch. I doubt it would get as much play on my PS4.
Agree with db, it's fun as hell. Wish I didn't suck so much at shooting though.
Can some more of you guys share your Switch IDs?
