Borderlands

Post by macsomjrr »

Did a quick search and couldn't find any previous thread which was weird. I was a bit leery early on but all of the reviews and impressions stuff I've been reading so far makes this game sound cool as heck. The shooter RPG-grinding mix of gameplay is ideal for me:)

I can't explain it, but Borderlands just isn't on my radar. I think I've had my fill of the post-apocolyptic stuff with Fallout 3, and I didn't even finish that one.

I would've thought the wasteland rebel theme was right up your alley!

I've watched the gameplay videos and I haven't been impressed. The shooting, AL, environments, etc, all seem pretty ordinary if not sub-par(AI). Come for the grind-n-loot, apparently.

It doesn't seem to be my style.

Fugazi is a Washington D.C. area punk band started in the late eighties. The song in my sig is Waiting Room off of their debut EP (7 Songs). You can find it on disc combined with their second EP "Margin Walker" but it's called "13 songs". It's one of my favorite albums of all time.

Sorry this got so far off topic Mac.

Everything I've read about this game has been very positive. I'm very intrigued by the co-op feature. :D

Borderlands has been on my radar for two years.

I am looking forward to coop with my nephew.

I have already paid for it and will pick it up tomorrow, although FIFA has me tempted to switch to it.

The game looks terrific!

I'll be playing FIFA during the day and Borderlands in the evening once my gaming group gets off of work:)

Yeah, I love it when he says "You want Peggle? Go f*** yourself."

I watched the video review this morning and I am really looking forward to this one now. A first-person shooter loot drop co-op game? I'm in, baby!

Maybe satisfy that itch that Too Human tried to scratch?

I want to hear how alike/ unlike it is to Fallout 3. I initially enjoyed Fallout, but got bored and lost pretty quickly. The 4 player co-op is a definite draw, however.

I don't think it is anything like Fallout 3. I think this is more mad max, ie a shooter / rpg combo with co-op.

Yeah, I get the Too Human vibe from this as well, though obviously in a different FPS framework.

I really enjoyed Too Human. It certainly wasn't the best game and it definitely had some issues but constantly searching for that next badass weapon or armor was great and co-op was a blast. If this can deliver that aspect of Too Human with tight controls and flawless 4-player co-op I will be pleasantly surprised. I've had my eye on this one for a while now but now it has my full attention.

Those things (save maybe some slight control wonks I read about) seem to be what this game is good at, Scoop, so I think you'll enjoy it!

Apparently there is an inability to trade loot, though, so guys can potentially hog all the gets. Not that I think that would be a problem with the dudes here, but it may require some conversation before folks start grabbing things.

I am a weak, weak man.

I'm suppose to be working so here is all I can say so far.

Props for using Cage The elephant on the title sequence song.
You shoot lots of things and get shot a lot.

This is like a co-op / mmo shooter with mmo type missions and lots of loot to grind.
