2 small, key signings

Post by GreenSoxJonah »

I'm really happy with my two small stealth signings after spring training ended: Ernesto Campos (who I signed to a small 750K, 1 year deal after he went unsigned - he's 38, but still a great hitter), and Jack Fell, a 36 year old 6-7-8 middle reliever whom I'm only paying $1M to. It doesn't hurt Campos is loyal to the Green Sox and paying immediate dividends. :D

Jonah, if your definition of a great hitter is someone with an OPS of .627 I think we can work a deal!

I have a few great hitters available for trade.

Spare me the OPS. He's hitting .427. So what if he has no power? He's already helped me start winning. He may not be walking now, but he's a perfect #2 hitter (especially with a #10 bunt). He has a 7 contact, 6 walk, 7 avoid strikeout (going from memory here). He's also been with the Green Sox the past two years and played well.

I'm sure that .427 average will last Jonah. ;)

He's a .300 hitter who can walk and bunt.

I have to hand it to you on that one Jonah. I would have never guessed he would have a 400+ Avg this far into the season.

I'll still bet that he is due for a big drop soon though. :)

Speaking of not quitting, Manny Gomez has tossed 2 shutouts this year despite being on the back end of his career.
