OT - Corey Dillon, You Are A Prize Tool !

Post by davet010 »

So Corey wants a trade away from Cinci because he "wants to go somewhere where he is appreciated". So he waits until the team gets some attention after a good win to do it, with a chance to generate some momentum.

Lets analyse some of his gripes, for a moment.

1. He "doesn´t get enough carries". Fact - over the last 3 full seasons, only Eddie George had more NFL carries. He wants 30 carries a game, not because this would help the team win, necessarily, but to ´put him up there with the big boys´. So, he´s a stat padder.

Face it Corey, even if you got to their yardage figures, you´ll never be an elite back like the Paytons, Sanders etc - and don´t say its because you play for the Stripes, because the Bears were crap for most of Walter´s time there.

2. No-one appreciates him when he plays hurt. Fact - Dillon has sat out games this season when hurt, and his momental effort last Sunday amounted to 18 carries for 39 yds.

Does he think no one else in the NFL plays hurt ? Tim Krumrie played in a Superbowl with a broken bone in his leg, and Larry Wilson of the Cardinals played one game with casts on both hands.

3. He wants to ´go and get a Superbowl´. How about playing a bit better then, sunshine ? How about not blowing game winning plays, like you did twice last year ?

The only team mentioned in this is Dallas. You think they are going to a Superbowl within the lifetime of your career ? Their 5-1 record must be one of the most misleading of the season.

Other points to note

- CD waits until after the Oct 14 trade deadline to play up. Why ?

- this ´warrior´, who so fiercely throws himself into the fray, is paid an estimated $300k PER GAME, even when he´s collecting splinters in his arse. Even I could gut it out for 14 carries for £200k, or 5 times my annual salary. I´d be a f**king wreck at the end of it mind.

- now he wants management to do something about his situation ASAP. Hmm, OK - we´ll cut you loose and take a $4m cap hit this season, so someone else can pick you up ? My answer to that would be that you are in yr 3 of a 5yr contract, and anyone who wants you better dig deep.

I know this is a long, hate-filled (but factually accurate, me thinks) diatribe. But it sums up why he should be put into street clothes for the rest of the season, and dealt after it. I don´t care if he runs for 3,000 yards this season - it´ll only be padding his run yards for him, whether the Stripes go 2-14 or 12-4.

Corey Dillon - you are, to use a Mancunian expression, a complete tw*t.
No way man - wouldn´t want you ruining his trade value by beating up on him...

dave your on the mark

corey has been griping for years

i for one always got the vibe he was selfish to say the least but at least in the past seasons with what the bengals were doing you could give him the benifit of the doubt...not to mention he was about the only bright spot on the team and you would have liked to think he was challenging his team mates....

however its now pretty obvious.........its not about the TEAM

but the I in DILLON

wouldnt mind them capatalizing on his request and getting a number one pick if possible

as marvin has some more tooling around to do before they really start to roar again

and picks wouldnt hurt....

[ This message was edited by: Cincinnati_Kid on 24-10-2003 00:12 ]

He does this every year. YAWN, his act is already old.

He´s just mad because Jamal broke his single game rushing record.

On a positive note, I really love Corey in those commercials of his.

Reporter: "There´s no I in team."
Corey: "There´s no We either".

Damn that´s funny Corey
