DAVE MIRRA HAS LEFT THE BUILDING.

Post by Teal »

Dave Mirra has finally seen the light. He has removed his name from the STUPID Dave Mirra XXX game, along with his likeness, and all the other real BMX riders will, likewise, be removed. Oddly, the game is still going to be released in November.
All I can say is way to go, Dave. That game was a train wreck waiting to happen.
Mirra will be in his own BMX game ( a legit one) TBA.

[ This message was edited by: tealboy03 on 19-08-2002 14:24 ]

DAVE MIRRA HAS LEFT THE BUILDING.

Damn, Teal, you scared me. I thought the Miracle Boy had died! Even though I´m 37, I admire extreme sports athletes quite a bit, and Mirra grew up in upstate N.Y., about 15 miles from where I live now.

My 8-year-old nephew worships Mirra, and my wife and I saw him in a bar in Syracuse last summer. I said to my wife, "There´s Dave Mirra." She went right up to him and asked him for an autograph for Sam, my nephew. My wife is a brassy broad.

Mirra was a true gentleman, asking for Sam´s name so he could personalize the autograph, etc. He was really, really friendly. Since then, I´ve liked Dave even more.

Good thing Dave has removed his name from this game. It would hurt his image, and I think Acclaim will do little to improve the gameplay of this title, instead relying on the controversial nature of the title to sell it.

On a common note, has anyone in here played Mat Hoffman´s Pro BMX for the Xbox, released last week? I loved Hofmann for the Dreamcast and wondered how this version played.

Anyone, Bueller? Anyone?

Take care,

Paul,
I got to play it for a few minutes, and I thought it was very good. At least as good as Dave Mirra 2 was.
I know Dave´s a good guy. That´s why I was glad to see him get out of this silly project.
BTW, didn´t mean to scare you! I guess I shoulda clarified my title a little, huh?
