DSP Madden 06 Xbox Multiplayer Franchise

Well thanks to the tips from Sully, we are going to try this. I sent out a bunch of PM's to people, but most were not responded to, which I assume means no interest. We have 3 people, I'd like to get from 4-6 and no more then that.

This will be a test / learn as you go thing. If we play two weeks and thinks it sucks, then we can dump it. You will not be playing another human online every week, it is just like a multiplayer franchise you might run in your house. When you do face a human opponent we will spawn those game for you to play online.

I don't envision this starting for a week or two. We need to work out settings etc. So if you are interested please let me know, I don't think this will be a big time constraint type thing. As at most you play one game of Madden solo a week.

Here is who is in.

Piggy - Chargers
Danimal - Chiefs
Brando - Panthers

Scoop is a maybe as the Bears depending on when we start. But if you want in and wish the Bears, go ahead and take them.

Again I'd like to keep it to 6 players, hopefully some more people will be interested. If not we will try it with just the 3 of us.

Just give him my spot, Dan. I wanted to get you to the 6 users you were looking for, and since I'm already running one with friends, I'm fine with sitting out. Besides, the larger it gets, the more of a hassle it'll become.

Guys any feedback as far as rules and settings. Here is what I was thinking.

All Pro Setting Default.
All Penalty Sliders bumped up 3 clicks.
Accelerated clock

Quarter Length: I usually play my franchise games at 15 minutes with ACC clock. That makes a game take usually 1 hour. Do you guys want to bump that down to 12 or 13 minutes?

As for how it works, I've read two ways to do it. I'm not sure which one is better or if they both work. Hopefully Sully is still reading this and he can let me know.

Option 1.
- I start the franchise, do my game, training camp etc. Save the game, upload to my Locker and the next person in line goes.

- In weeks where two humans plau, I spawn the game, put it in my EA Locker, you both download it. Meet online and then the home team starts the game.

- It is my understanding that spawned games can be brought back in at any time, as long as you don't sim the week out.

Option 2
- I start the franchise, do my game, training camp etc.

- I spawn everyone elses game, even if it against the CPU. Put them in the Locker, you download and play. Place it back in my Locker.

- Human vs Human games done as above.

Again this is a test / learn as you go. I haven't tried either method, my only question is with method #2, how do you ever make roster adjustements etc to your team. I don't see how it would work.

So I am looking for feedback, we have to run through training camp, then preseason (unless we skip it and sim pre-season). So we can get started right away, just need to save the Franchise. I don't want to put a time on this, like we need to complete the cycle in a week etc. Lets just see how it goes.

I think 12 minutes with the Accel clock would work. I like option 1 the best, because I think you're right, how would you make roster adjustments?

We could play pre-season, at least the first week or two, to try things out and see if we should make tweaks.

Ok guys I started it. We are in Training Camp mode, so you will run through the t=raining camp drill.

IMPORTANT: Do not choose skip training camp or everyone after you loses their turn to do the drills. When you have done all your drill just exit out and save teh franchise.

So I already did mine, Piggy is up next. He will go to my locker (GamerTag Danimal66) download the franchise (DSP) do his training camp. Upload the franchise to his locker come on here and let Brando know it is his turn and he will then repeat the process.

Once it gets back to me. I will choose the skip training camp option to move us to preseason.

Here is the order in case.

1. Danimal - Chiefs
2. Piggy - Chargers
3. Brando - Panthers
4. Slumber - Jets
5. bkrich - Bengals
6. AtXj - Texans

Just post here when you're done, pigpen. If I don't do the TC tonight, I will do it tomorrow.

I think it would probably work well to have a checkout system, like a poor man's Sharepoint. Maybe a sticky where someone can say "I'll take the file today around z:zz" and then post when they return it. Given that we have a small group and good mix of time zones, I can't imagine we'll be stepping on each other's toes much.

Danimal, your locker has nothing in it.

I went to download the franchise and it shows your locker as empty.

Could someone else have downloaded it?...and if they did would it remove it from your locker?

That is really odd. I don't think it disappears if someone dowloads it. Let me go check it out now. I was at a golf tournament today, made the cut so i will be gone all day tomorrow too.

I'll post after I see whats going on.

Just so everyone knows after you upload something to your locker, you then have to edit it with A and make it open ot the public for download.
