DSP NCAA League: Time Zones
Could everyone post here with their team and the time zone they reside in? I have a feeling this could prove to be a good way to divide up the divisions so that game nights are more convenient and productive.
Thanks!
BTW I am in the Eastern time zone. UVA will be my team (unless I change my mind. . . ).

Ok here is a half-assed divisional grouping based on the info I have and some guessing:
The capital letters indicate info I know is accurate, the small-case letters are the guesses. As is, the Eastern division is too big, assuming my guesses are correct. If my guesses are right, someone from the East, probably a B+ team, will have to move to the Central.
I'm not sure these are the best divisions in terms of competitiveness, and after looking at this I think we may be happier dividing them up according to overall ratings. However, an 8-team division team will play 4 games out of division (the 9-team div. will play 3 out of div. games), so that will mitigate some of the mismatch problems, but not all. For example, the way it is now, pigpen would have 6 games agains B+ or better teams, and only 5 against B or B- teams.
So I think later today or tomorrow, once I have a more concrete time-zone set up so that we have some real options to choose from, I will post a poll thread where league members can vote on the two options: divisions by overall rating, or divisions by time zone.
BTW we are in daylight time right now guys, except for Indiana, so I hope the fact so many of you are running in standard time isn't getting you in trouble at work!
I am resigned to the math that an 11 game schedule will apply to all but one lone team, who only has 10. We could choose to have that team be anyone, really, and we could decide someone has to play 12 to get that guy his 11th, we'll see. I have a feeling we may have some changes before this league is over, so however well constructed my house of cards schedule ends up being, it will be all crazy by the end.
And Jason, thanks for the schedule-making tips; we aren't doing a round-robin, and it doesn't matter what order anyone plays their opponents, those are moot issues. The difficulty I'm having is putting together an 11 game season in uneven divisions with an odd number of teams. I think I have it close, but there is this one half a game left over.

Good job but one suggestion if I may...Is it possible to get a specific forum here JUST for the league so it would be easier to find and stay on top of league related issues...Also in the time zone thread everyone needs to check in...I wouldn't do a whole lot more until you lock down just who is gonna really be committed.
Once you get a dedicated forum here then you might want to start requiring that people check in...I would just hate to see you do all this work and not be sure of having a committed buc=nch of guys..Lock down the committed ballers first then the schedules and all that stuff can be handled...There are programs and such that cabn do all that...Just my .02
