I wonder if I can convince the Chinese truck and the cheese steak truck across the street to join forces and make this thing. Though I think this is the first time I've ever been afraid of a sandwich.

The Baconator from Wendy's is pretty fearsome, and my friends have had this burger they serve at the University pub here named "The Homer". It's two beef patties (deep-fried!), mozzarella sticks (deep-fried!), onion rings (deep-fried)!, and pickles (deepfried!). They even had french fries with it. Horrible.

I am heading to my in-laws this weekend, and they have a Chinese place that makes the best General Tso's I've had since I lived in NYC. Now I always have to eat there when we visit. Plus I think we're hitting Walker Brothers pancake house while we are at it.

Your average Glaswegian would regard that as part of a low fat diet.

It's the only place that I've ever seen a chippy with deep-fried doner kebabs on the menu.

I'm thinking of putting one of those 'Infallible Ways to Make Shitloads of Money' guides on sale on e-Bay, but will let you all have a sample.

1. Train as a cardiologist.
2. Move to Glasgow (well, nearby)
3. Offer services to local NHS Trust
4. Hire accountant to look after your piles of cash.

I was in Edinbrough and had a taste of my very first deep fried snickers before it was popular at state fairs. It was my first and last taste of that.

So you didn't try the deep fried kebabs or the deep fried pizza ?

Lightweight.

Thereagain, knowing Edinburgh it would probably have been about £10 a slice for the pizza.

I still love the General's chicken but I must admit I've found a chicken I like better; Chicken Tikka Masala. Rich, creamy, spicy; what's not to love? :D

Can it be found at most Indian restaurants? Sounds pretty interesting.

Yeah...it's pretty standard. In fact, lots of Indian lunch buffets tend to have this dish out as one of their staples.

Chicken Tikka Masala is now Britain's national dish :D

I think it is pretty much the equivalent of this General Whatsit's chicken, ie something that no one from the community involved would recognise as having anything to do with their national cuisine.

Bit too mild for me though, but then Brits do like their curries at a strength that go beyond proper Indian cooking, which may be something to do with the consumption of the standard '8 pints of Stella Artois' starter.

OOHH now your talking, someone orders Tikka masala i order Rogan Josh 2 Naan Pilau rice and a taj mahal life can be good.
Oh and the best veggie dish is Behgan Bharta(sp roast eggplant)

Those staples are how i judge a curry house, if they are not up to snuff then forget it.

Watched this documentary last night on Netflix when I could not sleep. Pretty well done, and all I could think of was the DSP crew and the fact that I could not find a place in suburban Atlanta at 3:00am to go get me some General Tso's.
Enjoy!

Holy crap! I've just had dinner of the finest General Tso's I've ever had....and it wasn't at a restaurant. It was a cook at home kit, from some company called InnovASIAN. MY, MY...

This forum is the only reason I ever tried General Tso Chicken. Now it is a staple.

Good guy! Still stay in touch with him on Facebook.

There are three guarantees in life: Death, taxes and Dave Tyrrell shredding any praise-filled post of mine on Facebook about Oasis. :)
