The S3 is fine...it's just on the bigger side, especially if you're comparing it to something like the iPhone. The Note on the other hand fits, but not if you're a hipster wearing skinny jeans. It's pretty big and it tough to bend down if it's in your pocket...so, it fits, but with some limitations.

Carry a "murse" then.

Actually, it might be worse to hold it up to your ear. So maybe a bluetooth headset would be a good complement.

I had the original Note and was constantly surprised at how well it fit into 90% of my pockets. Great phone, it just had some quirkiness and limitations that the S3 completely fixed. Now that there is a new Note with all of the power and features of the S3...it's really a no brainer IMO.

The wife just got the HTC One X yesterday from At&t. Nice phone. I can't imagine what the Note 2 is going to feel like, the One is a nice size phone. Note 2 is going to take some getting use to. Can't wait!

Oh hell yes. Google getting smart as hell now. No LTE kinda sucks, but I'd rather get a cheap, non contract beast of a phone with HSPA+ and ridiculous battery life anyway.

http://www.theverge.com/2012/10/29/3569 ... lease-date

8gb $299 and 16gb $349...NO CONTRACT REQUIRED.

Nexus 4 life.

Definitely my next phone...November 13th (supposedly).

Yeah, looks like this is the phone that's gonna get me back in full with Android.

The Jelly Bean on the Nexus 7 is a pleasure to use and i'm gonna finally have the screen size on a phone that I desired and Apple failed to provide with the iPhone.

No LTE is no biggie for me.

My wife just ordered the Motorola Defy XT - of course it is not the greatest phone in the world - but it will do what she wants.

However, the phone is not the key here..... she finally got in on the republic wireless beta. $19 a month, unlimited everything and no contract.

She should get the phone tomorrow.... as soon as they allow you to bring your own device, I will consider switching to them.

We are doing the same thing at our house. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. As long as the voice works ok and drops are not a big issue, it should be a nice change in our monthly budget. Since work will be paying for my phone soon, and my wife is not a "power-user", this is going to be much cheaper than the $160 month that T-Mobile wanted to charge me for their unlimited voice/data family plan. Let me know how it works out for you.

I think my iphone days are coming to an end. I'm simply bored. I watched the video in the link below and the phone looks pretty damn sweet.

I was leaning towards the SG3 but this nexus 4 is looking very cool and the price is right.

I've never bought a non contract phone before.. How does that work? Can I go to any carrier?

In the states you can really only use AT&T and t-mobile with the nexus 4...or a few of the regional gsm carriers. You just take out your SIM card and pop it in the new phone and it just works. That's one of the main reasons I left Verizon. Yes their network is better and faster but I want to use any phone released not just the ones that Verizon cripples.

The 4S sim won't work on the Nexus, right?

Depends what sim it is...isn't it just micro sim? If yes, then that's what the Nexus 4 uses. I know the iPhone 5 went to nano sim which is even smaller, in which case you'd need to get a new sim from At&t or whatever your provider is.

N4 reviews starting to trickle in...

Wired:

http://www.wired.com/reviews/2012/11/go ... xus-4/all/

The Verge:

http://www.theverge.com/2012/11/2/35892 ... s-4-review

CNET:

http://reviews.cnet.com/lg-nexus-4/

ENgadget:

http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/02/nexus-4-review/

Some of the things that kinda worry me are bad call quality (CNET) and washed out screen (The Verge).

Plus, this (like the iPhone) seems like the type of hardware you may want to protect with at least a TPU case.

DB,

You still getting the N4?

What do you think about the reviews?

Yes. I don't trust mainstream reviews on Nexus devices. They are not meant to be the absolute top of the line with every feature and huge storage capacities. They are developer and tinkerer phones. Exactly what I want. The Galaxy Nexus was never a spec monster, and it's been my go to phone for the past year...so I'm sure the new version will be even better. Tho it's going to be tough to surpass the Galaxy Nexus. If it had a better camera in it, I doubt I'd even get the 4...but alas, the camera is terrible in it so I've always been looking to upgrade it. Nexus 4 is it.

Will be buying day 1.

Been ready for weeks. Gotta be quick. It'll probably sell out. Especially the 16gb version.

Yeah, got Page Monitor (extension) for Chrome pinging the Play Store.

Hope they don't wait 'till 12am PST to release the hounds...
