Ok so it sounds cheesy but grand theft auto football might be ok, what else are they supposed to do, lay down and bow to EA.

It may be innovative who knows.

I'd rather it follow more of a football rpg type line than a Gameday meets GTA theme. The football construction kit-type games we talked about after the initial EA/NFL announcement could have some legs, but this over the top mix is leaving its football roots and attempting to create a new game that just happens to have a football engine in it as well.

Just when I thought Midway was putting out one too many football based story line games, along comes another.

Games that try to offer 35 different types of gameplay usually don't do any of them well.

Edit: And football games done by Sony usually don't do football well.

MLB was produced by Sony this year and surprised everyone. Hopefully their football series takes a page outta the baseball games book.
