PK... WTF is wrong with your avatar at SR? The damn thing is so small how does it offend anyone? Damn man that place is a trip.

I thought you and Matt were cool. He seems to be going out of his way to mess with you. Whats up with that?

Anyhow nice avatar and way to stick to your guns. Your balls aren´t in Matts pocket and thats a damn good thing. I´ll bet Siam misses his

Well, Jack, let´s just say that Matt and I are no longer friends. I don´t know what´s up with that guy or the site. He´s singling me out as the top Forum troublemaker when I haven´t posted a profane word in there for nearly a month yet I see "sh1t" and "WTF" from other posters on a regular basis.

Dancing Hitlers are fine. But a photo of Johnny Cash doing nothing illegal, with no reference to drugs, alcohol or sex, posted in tribute to The Man in Black somehow violates that Forum´s rules. OK ...

He can ban me. I´m not changing the avatar, out of respect for Cash.

It´s a shame about Matt and I, as we were quite tight at one point. But he´s clearly not the same guy I met in 2000. I am the same guy.

Life goes on.

Take care,

Lol, the admin kept deleting that Resin guy´s posts in the ESPN online thread. From a quick glance, it seemed that Resin was just complimenting pk on the Cash avatar and the rest of the post was about sports and on-topic. If sportsguy can´t censor the avatar, why should he censor a quick comment about it?

Here´s a suggestion. Can DS become the home for SR threads that are full of valid information but are locked because of an unjust forum policy? This would not be to continue bashing the policies, but simply to continue perfectly fine discussions.

When Sportsguy himself made a thread on how he wanted to STRANGLE the developers of ESPN I pointed out to him that there are victims of strangulation every day and that it was no laughing matter. I also pointed out that strangling someone is a violent behavior and saying you wanted to strangle someone can be construed as a threat. I said this all in that loving way that only I can and yet the post still got deleted yet the violent post remained.
Fine with me. Better yet, DSP can be its own, unfiltered voice. Doesn´t need to be a refugee camp for anyone.

DSP is a cool place for people to talk in a human fashion -- in their own voice -- about sports gaming, sports and a variety of other topics.

A place with personality, in other words.

It seems like every other thread here is a SR bashing thread. If everybody hates SR so much, why do you keep posting there? Everyone is taking all of this too seriously. There were two great games released in the past week, but you guys are letting yourselves get bent out of shape over SR´s forum policy.

Hipe..not true. I see alot of gaming talk here. But since DS doesn´t have a handhelds section you see all other OT threads here.I just asked PK a question.

But the same applies to you. Why complain about an OT thread here when you could be spending time reading opinions about games or waiting for Siam at the airport.
That´s the problem. Everything is a joke there nothing is taken seriously. A couple of unstable lunatics act out their hallucinations everyday on those boards. Ive defected permanently over here, the SR daily soap opera has been played out.
Well said.
Now, boys, post what you want. But think about this: Let´s not worry about the trials and tribulations of SR through posts here. Let´s work on building this corner of the sports gaming world into something cool and special.

Oh, one other thing: This is the official position on censorship in the DSP Forum:
Now let´s rock on in here, ladies (?) and gentlemen. Let´s continue to build this place into an ass-kicking, fun destination filled with decency, spirit and personality. Onward and upward.

I don´t know, don´t you want to cultivate 10-year old readers like SR apparently does?

Can´t you put something into the metatags so that this site is indicated to be having adult content?

That way maybe filtering sofware would just keep the kiddies out.

WCO:

First of all, there is filtering software for certain words. They can be easily circumvented while keeping the content "bleeped," to use broadcast parlance.

Second, this site is self-policing. Nearly all of us are responsible adults and can take care of ourselves and this site. Has chaos broken out here yet? No. And we don´t plan on seeing it, either.

Think of this place as your neighborhood corner tavern. Not night club. Not young kid´s hotspot. More like Archie´s Place.

Does your local tavern have three burly bouncers at the door? Hopefully not. Does it get out of hand every so often? Yeah. But do the patrons take care of the joint and of each other so the bartender doesn´t have to hire beef to work the door? Yep.

That´s the DSP Forum, in a nutshell. Matt wants bouncers. Jared and I don´t. Simple difference, really.

All we ask is for decency. That doesn´t mean no profanity. That doesn´t mean no debate. That doesn´t mean conversations about reality. It means treating others with respect.

Take care,
PK

[ This message was edited by: pk500 on 13-09-2003 13:26 ]

Yah but let´s hope we won´t run out of decent ideas to talk about, unlike what happened with All in the Family when it changed to Archie´s place.
