Christ, Jack, how could I forget Championship Manager 4? That shoots to the top of my sports list, probably tied with NHL 2K3.

The prospect of online Sega hockey with my Xbox has my mouth watering, too.
No problems, really. SR still is a great spot.

I just had problems with two particular posters that weren´t going away and were polluting the Forum with trash. My responses to them also were trash and doing nothing to help the Forum. I also needed a fresh start for my writing about games, and Jared Medina and his staff were kind enough to let me join DS. I´m invigorated about writing about gaming for the first time in nearly a year, which is a good thing.

I still read SR and its Forum and will continue to do so. I learn a lot from there and hope we can build a similar community here. But I don´t plan on posting at SR any more. Hopefully that will keep the troll bait to a minimum at that Forum, keeping it 100-percent free for the good sports-gaming and interesting off-topic discussion that fills that board most of the time.

I knew I was gonna get crap for choosing FIFA 2003. But I (for reasons that I´m not quite sure of myself) think that this is the year they turn it around. They have to. If not, Konami´s gonna wipe the floor with them in Europe.

And Spurrier didn´t show up to the stadium dedication? That is pretty poor...though that still doesn´t change his status as semi-diety where I´m from.

Jared:

Nah, you´re going to wipe your, well, you know, with the receipt from the store where you bought FIFA 2003 after you realize that it´s s*** for the eighth consecutive year.

Just kidding, bro.

Seriously, I hope EA snaps out of it and builds a good soccer game. But it seems like the only genre in which EA gives two hoots about realism is football with Madden and NCAA. Every one of its other franchises leans heavily toward the arcade side of the gaming fence.

Sometimes I think Konami could dominate the soccer market if it released Winning Eleven 6 for all consoles in the U.S. But then reality kicks in: Soccer sadly isn´t the most popular sport in the U.S., and there are millions of gamers who think that the FIFA brand of soccer resembles the real game.

So if Konami released WE6 in the States, I´m sure we´d hear a litany of cries from soccer morons who said: "This is too slow! Where are the laser-beam shots? How come I can´t jam the speed burst button into the face of the controller and waltz in to score a goal? What is a through pass?"

Hey Pk. Nice to hear from you again.

I got both NFL 2K3 and Madden on the Xbox and am enjoying them both. I´m not having controller sensitivity issues with either using the controller-s.

Anyway, on my list:

1. NHL2K3 (Xbox)
2. Pro Race Driver (PS2... I have a wheel)
3. Colin McRae Rally 3 (maybe)

Here are mine.

1) Tiger Woods 2003
2) NHL 2003
3) Nascar Thunder 2003 PC & PS2 (yes scarily enough I am looking forward to this)
4) Nascar Heat 2003 (Career mode sounds great! May make this title must own title of the year)

There are titles beside sports?!?!?!

I posted this before I read through the entire thread. I agree Teal I am willing to give Thunder one more chance. So far what I have seen of it, it looks very good and lot more fluid then 2002. I saw the PC version when I was in Kansas a few weeks ago. Looked good. I saw Dale Jr. plugging one during the Glen race during a mid race segment. Im not sure which one he was driving.

If the career mode had more depth too it, it would have received far more play time then it did.

James:

Glad you´re here, man.

Pro Race Driver was on my hit list, but the game has been delayed for the Xbox yet again, to sometime early in February 2003.

Man, I love Codemasters, but the company might consider a name change to Delaymasters. Still, it seems like every one of its racing titles is worth the wait.

I´ll tell you what game I´m most anticipating in 2003: The Indy Racing League game by the Codies!

Don´t be a stranger around here, dude!
