I got into Everquest big time (6+hrs a day for over a year), but I get bored with these games pretty quickly now. Only got to level 28 in WoW. I think it's because they're too predictable and too similar to each other. Create character, do basic quests that introduce gameplay and advancement mechanisms and familiarize you with the area, get the next round of quests that send you out just a little further against enemies that gradually increase in level...no point to exploring, just kill 10 of these and 8 of those, carry letter to the next quest npc when one line of quests is done, etc. I can't remember the last time I came across anything unexpected or out of the ordinary in an MMO. I try every one, and they are all bland.

EVE Online is different but just too complex and hardcore for me. I don't want to have to join up with a bunch of people who have basically checked out of real life just to get the most out of the game, and if I'm playing solo, there are single player games that are a lot more engaging.

Thanks for asking Grog!

On this server, I now have four level 85's, one level 70, one 27 and a brand new level 31 Worgen . The new Cataclysm expansion is terrific. The folks at Blizzard have been constantly improving on the best game ever made every week and in this latest expansion they shine!

Pics to follow. Too busy now.

We've always known the prevalence of gold farming in China but this was an interesting twist.

I've never played WOW either.. Really don't want to tempt myself with the addiction that could follow.

I broke the addiction years ago in large part because I got tired of missing out on a more well-balanced videogame diet...and I missed XBL.

If someone would get around to doing a really fine MMO on Live I'd be all over it.

Wow about the WoW story. It explains much. I have basically been living the life of a Chineese prisoner.

Five level 85 characters and lvl 66 on the way up ...with two 30's on deck.... Thats ugly. 8)

I break from it every year or so and then they come out with a new expansion and the bastards pull me back in.

I'm still playing LOTRO as when it was pay I bought a lifetime membership and now it is free so jokes on me.

I never get above level 25 before I start someone new, I don't spend much time on MMO's anymore. The new star wars game kind of interests me but what I am more on board with is the Neverwinter Nights game because it sounds more like a cross between an MMO and Borderlands. I also like the fact people will be able to create their own adventures.

It is coming in less than two weeks now.

The greatest game ever made adds Pandas?

Mists of Pandaria WoW expansion kicks me in the nuts and takes over all my gaming (what there is left of it) on 9/25

Lord have mercy! :P :D :D :D

The first expansion that I have no interest in buying/playing.

I played the beta for a bit and it did absolutely nothing to pull me back in.

Jack who?

Despite the doubt Terry planted in my mind I have reactivated my account in preparation for the pandas. Azeroth Its an awful purty place. If it sux I will just bail like I have done with the million other crappy games I have bought over my long and geeky gaming life.

My kids urged me to get the expansion, so I did, and played for about a week. It was as I feared...even with new content, nothing kept me wanting to play much anymore.

Sorry, Alex

Im still playing. The only game Ive been able to play the last couple of weeks with my bum flipper.

The game is what you make it.
If you just power level toons you will get bored pretty quickly.
I keep playing and try to level all their armor, I do the pvp battlegrounds( havent done it yet with this expansion), I delve into the faction dailies, I level the crafting professions, collect mounts, and play my own made up version of the wow gold market. Which is a screwy game all its own.

The new continent is cute. :P

I have played the crap out of every expansion and eventually gotten bored with all of them. It just takes me much longer. I usually cancel my account when a 360 game comes out that has its own crazy addictive draw so that it can pry me away. Last time it was Dark Souls. This time? GTV?

Hard to believe it's over 10 years old. Not to mention reading through this thread brings back memories of some long lost DSP/SportsReviewers:
