Hey boys:

I rented Dead to Rights for the Xbox last night and played it for about an hour.

Sure, that´s not much time to spend with a game, but my initial impressions are mediocre, at best.

The gameplay is very simple, aim and fire with a couple of special moves; the fighting system is very basic; the two minigames I played so far -- pick the lock and get past the bouncers at the strip joint -- were simple and dull; the graphics weren´t top-shelf Xbox quality; and the voice acting and script are absolutely horrible.

I´ll keep playing this game, but so far I´m glad I didn´t shell out $50 sight unseen for it. I shut it off after an hour to play more NFL 2K3.

IGN hyperventilated about the quality of Dead to Rights after E3 in May. Once again, that proves that friends shouldn´t let friends trust IGN, the biggest industry ass-lickers in the gaming press.

Take care,
Spot-on, man: The opening movie blurred the line between a movie and a game.
