Mt. St. Helens Volcano Cam
http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/volcanocams/msh/

-- You never know when she's going to blow, and there have been some stunning morning shots of steam rising from the dome. Cloudy as hell this morning, so you're not seeing much.

The Onion
http://www.theonion.com

-- Is there a consistently funnier site on the Web? With all apologies to the Brothers Chaps' Homestar Runner, I don't think so.

Jazz at Lincoln Center
http://www.jalc.org/

-- A treasure trove of good, real jazz, none of that smooth jazz porn-film soundtrack sh*t. Includes audio archives of past performances.

All Music Guide

-- Want to know everything about every band or musician who has recorded on a record label? Check it out here. The encyclopedia of music. Period.

Christian Science Monitor Online
http://www.csmonitor.com/

-- The most balanced, objective, interesting American news organization. Don't let the name fool you -- there are no religious overtones, etc., in this coverage. Great, neutral analysis of the news.

BBC News Online
http://news.bbc.co.uk/

-- You're bound to find an interesting program to listen to, whether it's the BBC World Service or a general-interest show.

Talksport
http://www.talksport.net/default.aspx

-- England's version of ESPN Radio, with tons of footie coverage. I know DaveT doesn't like it, but I find it entertaining and informative.

Factcheck.org
http://www.factcheck.org/

-- Want to sift through the bullsh*t and lies of politics and politicians and find some semblance of truth? Start with this site.

Shoutcast
http://www.shoutcast.com/

-- There has to be a radio station on this site with music you'll like. Insane selection of genres and stations -- more than 3,000 stations.

World Stadiums
http://www.worldstadiums.com/

-- Everything you'd want to know about more than 8,000 stadiums in more than 200 countries around the world. A very interesting time-waster.

Enjoy, and hope time flies for you today.

Take care,

Slow day indeed - although livened up by my constantly setting new records for the degrees of bullshit I can get my auditors to write down as legitimate explanations.
"The players come from all over the world, the money from deep underneath the Persian Gulf, but, as another, older City poster campaign put it, this is their city. They may now exist in the global spotlight, but they intend to keep it that way."

A guy that went to my high school created this site. Funny stuff.
http://sportspickle.com/

Example of the satire found at the site:
Lebron James finally receives full membership into NBAPA after fathering illegitimate child

Second-year guard Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers finally received full membership into the NBA Players Association on Wednesday when he became the father of an illegitimate child. The 19-year old’s girlfriend gave birth to a boy.
“We welcome Lebron to the Players Association,” said Juwan Howard of the Houston Rockets, a member of the NBAPA’s Executive Committee who has been hit with a paternity suit, a prerequisite for serving on the committee. “He has now truly become one of us.”
While James now receives all the rights and privileges of a full member – including a percentage take of NBAPA’s licensing deals and fully comped visits to Atlanta’s Gold Club – some NBA players wish he had done a little more to gain membership.
“It’s good he’s shown some commitment to being a legitimate player,” said Stephon Marbury of the Knicks, “but having a child with a longtime girlfriend more than a year after he’s been drafted is not all that impressive. He’s going to have to knock-up a few groupies in various cities around the country or he is going to have a tough time getting respect from veteran players.”

Beware of AllMusic.com. If you're a music junkie, you can lose days in that site.

If you need some good laughs in your office:

Saturday Night Live Transcripts
http://snltranscripts.jt.org/

Seinfeld Transcripts
http://www.seinfeldscripts.com/

Another interesting site I stumbled upon while goofing around at lunch was Ross Halfin's site. He's a very famous rock photographer who has shot seemingly every hard rock band in existence. But what makes the site interesting is his diary, which is both incredibly egotistical and also skewers many artists by name.
