OT: Berman has to go from Cup Finals telecasts

Boys:
 
 I must get this off my chest: ABC needs to get Chris Berman the f*ck off its telecasts of the Stanley Cup Finals.
 
 This guy likes to think he knows a ton about hockey, but his knowledge doesn´t fill a thimble compared to John Saunders and Barry Melrose. So get him the hell out of there.
 
 As in all telecasts that include Berman, the show eventually becomes a stage for Berman´s songs and dances. The dude just gets in the way.
 
 I love Berman on football. He knows and loves the game. He may love hockey, but the dude really doesn´t know it as well as the standard ESPN people. Plus I don´t like the idea of ABC trotting in the heavy hitter in a cheap attempt to prop ratings. He gets in the way. ABC needs to run with the horses that brought them to the Finals.

I thought it was just me. I had to up my meds just to watch. Berman is great with Football,so so with Baseball and totally blows announcing Hockey. Dude needs to loosen the belt a bit,he sounds as if he´s always gasping for air <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_mad.gif">

Um, isn´t he on just during the intro and between periods? Take a piss, eat a snack, grab a smoke, drink a beer, pork the wife, take the Browns to the Super Bowl, play with your kids, walk the dog, strangle your monkey. Now that should help alleviate your frustrations for game 6, I´ve given you plenty to do while Berman is talking. <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_wink.gif">

I´m surprised anyone has noticed. The NHL playoffs have lower ratings this year than the Arena Football league. (Seriously).

 Hopefully someone at the NHL offices is paying attention to the ratings´ drop.
 
 Rules changes need to be made fast, or the NHL will become the stick-and-ball sports´ version of drag racing in the motorsports world, at least in the U.S.: A very cool, intense sport that appeals only to a small, very hardcore niche of enthusiasts.
 
 And that would be a real shame. Two-line offsides needs to be abolished -- now! And goalie equipment size must be reduced.

It´s pretty obvious because ABC and ESPN are affiliated, Berman is going to be on because of his name. That said, it´s painfully obvious that he lives and breathes football and while he is just alright in annoucing baseball games, you know he´d rather be having a pork steak with Mel Kiper than on the NHL telecast. The NHL is doing everything possible to boost their ratings and obviously the addition of Berman isn´t helping.

 I was just over there last weekend. Let´s just say that the phrase "mistake by the lake" is going to be getting a workout.
 
 It can´t help but be an improvement as far as the actual facilities are concerned, but it looks like ASS!
 
 It´ll be nice to have luxuries like working bathrooms and an acutal view of the game, but architecturally the thing is going to take a lot of heat off of new Comiskey <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_smile.gif">

Wow Rob thats to bad man. Do you know if they are going with grass or the Nike turf? I am going to be there for the Packers game in September. My brother got some tickets.

 I haven´t seen it in person yet but what I see on the website looks average at best. I´m trying to hold off judgement until I actually see it in person, after it´s actually complete and not in progress. I have my season tickets lined up so I will be at the Pack game as well. It better not be my ass that your foot is up or you´ll have a hard time explaining to the Mrs. why a 31 year old man keeps slapping your ass and calling you Judy <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_wink.gif"> .
