Inside Pitch - Initial Impressions...

Post by snate »

Kev - Thanks for including me in the league. I tried to get a username for your board but I am still waiting for the confirmation. I know many people have already "claimed" teams but what do you think about doing a lottery after we´ve nailed down the members and then we can draft teams. I think that would be more fun and fair. Either way.

PK - I´ll look for you online. I think your opinion of the game will change once you play it on XBL.

Inside Pitch - Initial Impressions...

Post by HipE »

This is without a doubt the best game I have played on XBL yet. I have put in around four hours a night online with it ever since I picked it up on Thursday. The gameplay is almost perfect in every category, hitting, running, pitching, and defense. I have not had so much fun playing defense in a game since Baseball Stars for NES, it´s almost a form of art. I can´t stop thinking about this game when I´m not playing it, it´s like crack. It´s so bad that I have registered on two new forums today just because there has been some IP talk. PK, I guarantee you will love it on XBL, just give it at least a few games even if you don´t like it right away.

snate,

I must apologize... I put you down for the Mets, but Bizarro already had them.

You make a good point about the lottery. What I was trying to do is give those that had expressed an interest prior to me "announcing" the league first choice on their teams.

I assumed you were a Mets fan, but I may be wrong... check out Splat and see the updated list. If we need to do something to make it more fair, then I have no problem letting the majority decide. I just want to keep it simple, fair, and fun!

Kev - I am a Mets fan. But that is fine. I´ll claim Seattle for now.

I had a feeling you wouldn´t pick the Rangers snate. I´m guessing having to watch Everett and Gonzalez gimp around chasing balls hit into the OF would have ruined the league for you pretty quickly

I´ll take the A´s as my second (or mayber even first) choice !!! I am a die hard Cubbies fan, but I really enjoy playing with the A´s in IP.
This is something that Inside Drive 2003 does exceptionally well, too. One of the real highlights of that game. "

Yeah PK. The abilities may not be spot on with their real life counterparts in IP, but at least they are consistant and are relatively correct. For example the differences between a teams 1 through 5 starting pitchers.
That and their pitching staff would make for games that go on for hours. Just like in real life.

I´ve updated the list over at Calvert Games. We´re already up to 12 people, and the "announcement" hasn´t even been posted!

snate, you got the Mariners. Thanks for being flexible...

I´ll look for you guys if I get online tonight (don´t know yet; tonight is "stat night" for the fantasy baseball league I run. Gotta crunch some numbers!)

Kev - How long does it take to get an email approval to post on your board? I applied this morning and haven´t heard back.

It should be "instantaneous," like HipE said... Let me know if you are still having problems.

I was looking at the members list at CG, and your email you entered was @hotmaill.com. You accidentally entered an extra "l" when typing your email address.

Sorry we didn´t hook up last night. I sent invites to you and Cinci, and Cinci replied first.

I only played two XBL games of IP last night, and I love it. As I said in my column on the home page, it´s the best team sports game I´ve played on XBL.

Thanks for the tip and pimping of this game. I never would have given it a shot based on the initial negative reviews and negative feedback in the SR Forum.

That´s exactly it Spooky...I just couldn´t resist. I know I´ll only play IP online and it´s fairly similar in terms of control to HH so I won´t be losing much going back to HH offline.

It´s all good, call me PK...I´ve been off, and on, and off and on IP so far so I´m just following his lead.

Yeah, usernames the same so look me up. I´ve already got you on mine from a while back.
