Pro Evo 3...I´ve been missing out...BIG TIME!

Guys,
 
 If you´ve got the rig, and a dvd player, be sure to pick up Pro Evo 3. I know there was a debate a couple weeks back about which to get WE7, or ProEvo3...well since I don´t have a PS2, the choice was simple. I got it last week, and popped it in this week to get the feel for the game. One word:
 
 DAMN
 
 I´ve never played a Konami based soccer title, and I have been serioulsy missing out.
 
 It is an awesome game from top to bottom. Seriously, I cannot find anything wrong with the game after about 10 or so matches. It simply is the best soccer game around. Now that I´ve played it, there is NO WAY IN HELL that I can possibly go back to the Fifa series.
 
 The pure control, the great set pieces, the overall realism that is portrayed can be matched only by Inside Drive in my book. It´s THAT good.
 
 And anyone who said that Fifa will always ´look´ better, hasn´t had a chance to run this bad boy at 1152 x 864 will all the details all the way up...it´s simply stunning. The magnitude of the stadiums is just awesome, as well as the atmosphere. I don´t think I´ve ever heard a crowd go completely silent like I did when Parma scored the one and only goal against me (Juventus) in the 88th min. to win the game 1-0. It was amazing.
 
 Seriously though...if you´ve got the rig to run it and you don´t have a PS2, it´s a no brainer. PICK IT UP!

I am intrested in this one as I am passing on the PS2. Where do you pick up such a game? I am assuming one of those import shops, but I have never had to use one.

 That´s where I got mine from in about a week. It´s a site in the UK...that was my first transaction with them, and it was flawless.
 
 As for a gamepad...I go with the Logitech Dual Action controller. It´s basically a PS2 controller. Same layout. It works great with the game.
 
 You´re right Mo...Fifa isn´t in the same galaxy. s***, I´ve only won one game so far on 2 star...and I still love it! Guess I gotta get used to the Konami style of play instead of the Fifa...it´s a learning curve I´m willing to try to learn.

 I played the demo of Pro Evo 3 on my PC and couldn´t get stable performance out of it. I would get too fast when it zoomed out and then too slow when the camera zoomed in. I experimented with all sorts of camera settings and got it be work better, but it was still too inconsistent for me. I could tell that the gameplay was sweet though.
 
 I heard others make similar complaints about the demo. Have you seen anything that you´ve found to be hard to tune with the camera settings, frame rates, and animations in the full game? I have an Athlon 2000 XP with 512 MB PC2100 RAM and an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, I would think I shouldn´t have a problem running it, but that demo has me a little concerned.
 
 Winning Eleven 6 IE still gets played to death on my PS2. The only thing I don´t like about it is the that I can´t quite find a camera angle that I like (I use intermediate Broadcast), but I would prefer an Inside Drivish action camera perspective. The vertical cameras in WE6IE don´t quite show me what I want to see. I don´t know if WE7 is going to offer any help there.
 
 I also hear that WE7 is going to do better in the commentary area. That´s good - the commentary of WE6IE was not up to the standard of the gameplay, control, and graphics.
 
 I can wait on the reviews of my trusted brethren here to aid me in my decision on WE7, Pro Evo 3 PC, or to just sit tight with WE6IE.

 Yeah, I can´t really give you a good review of the game cuz its still too new to me.
 
 As for the performance. I have yet to see ANY slowdown on 1152x864 at the highest quality. Apparently they polished the graphics engine because I by no means have a top of the line machine. I´ve got a 2.4 gig P4, 512 ddr 2700 and a 9700 Radeon Pro, so we are fairly similar in terms of specs.
 
 I did notice it was a bit smoother when I go down to 1024x768 but the performance boost wasn´t enough for me to warrant the drop in visuals.
 
 Overally, I was sceptical because of the lackluster performance in the demo stage, but I was pleasantly surprised. If you can play a game at 1024x768 and graphics all the way up, it´s a good day, and if you can jump up to 1152x864 it´s a great day.

 I recommend The Wolf´s EPL/Champions league patch...
 
 I beat Lokomotiv Moscow as Portsmouth tonight 1-0....but I should have scored more.
 
 This game was overlooked for sports game of the year last year as it cam out in November but it is quite frankly the best sports game ever.
 
 Just wait till next November....Pro Evo 4 PC with online play.
 
 We can play our own EPL league.

 Well, we here at DSP did give the PS2 version (WE6I) game of the year (cough, cough) <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_smile.gif">. And PES3 being an import is another reason why it didn´t make lots of lists for game of the year.

 I usually like TV. I tend to have the camera as far from the action as possible so I can see as much of the field as I can. However, you miss out on detail with that view.
 
 Oh, and also, WE7:I is coming out in Japan at the same time as the US version. Except that the Japanese version will be a sequel to the US version. Even though they´ll both have the exact same name (sigh). Some new animations, features, and 8 new teams (Modena , Besiktas, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, Sochaux, Malaga CF, Southampton, Middlesbrough). Can´t wait.

Hey thanks for the tips on the mods Mo...I got the EPL mod and it´s TIGHT. The only thing that´s wrong is they don´t call the teams by name...small price to pay though. The commentating will probably be turned off anyhow...not a big fan of commentators in any game really.

DB....make sure you get "We Will Rock You" for the entrance to the pitch music.....it really gets the blood pumping before each match...especiall thte cups becaue it is extended.
 
 also, check out all the different balls you can put in....they are all sweet...find a favorite.
 
 use the new option file editor to transfer Saha to ManU and other transfers that have happened recently....you can do it without having to start a new season...sweet...I just need to figure out how to get the country rosters so I can put McBride with Fulham.
