So, I played my first season in "Manager Mode" with STL City. I took them all the way to the championship game and got "fired" the day before the Final because I was ignoring player contracts. WTF?

FC 24 is on the chart of best-selling games but there are reports that it's not selling as well as the FIFA-branded games.

Interesting if true.

Unfortunate timing, this is a Euro year and then next WC in 2026.

EA used to put out Euro and WC editions in addition to the usual game. Then also Road to the WC.

Did they also drop the Euro license with UEFA?

Also FIFA said they were going to license some other publisher or maybe put out their own FIFA game. That hasn't seemed to happen either.

EA announced layoffs a couple of weeks ago too. Not saying it had to do with FC 24 sales. Overall a lot of game developer studios are laying people off or closing shop.

I fail to see what the FIFA license is actually worth. Outside of the World Cup and the Club World Championships, FIFA controls no competitions and no licenses for any teams or players.

The FIFPRO is where it’s at for players (it’s an international players’ union), and then it’s up to individual associations for league competitions and sometimes individual teams as well, depending on which leagues and teams. And then it’s UEFA for international club and national team competitions we actually care about (Champions League, for example).
