Games that demand resurrection and remakes

Post by pk500 »

Such cool news that we're getting a remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 for current-gen consoles. That got me thinking: What are the games for which you would like to see remakes for the Series X and PS5? My short list, in order:

1. Sled Storm. Amazing f*cking extreme snowmobile tricks game for the original PlayStation. Good soundtrack, too, including White Zombie's "Dragula!"

2. Dave Mirra's Pro BMX. I played this until my cuticles bled on Dreamcast and PS2. My favorite extreme sports game of all time.

3. Tokyo Xtreme Racer. What a fantastic game with such attitude and atmosphere.

4. Project Gotham Racing 2. The best sim-cade racing game ever, by some margin. Great grip model that allowed for lurid, controlled slides. Remember some EPIC duels with Terry on the Chicago street courses. The only racing game in which I could ever hang with him, except for Formula Fords in TOCA 3. For some reason, I was untouchable in those cars. Even blind squirrels find nuts.

5. Operation Flashpoint Red River. Still probably the most tense, tactical co-op shooter I've played on consoles.

I'll think of more, but those five rise to the top of my bald dome right now.

Spill your choices!

Agreed about PGR2!

I'll go for a College Hoops 2K resurrection.

1. SSX Tricky (I would say SSX 3, but it's already good enough with BC on XBOX One X)
2. Burnout 3: Takedown
3. SOCOM 2

1. High Heat 2004
2. All Star Baseball 2005 (still the only baseball game with a fielder's cam)
3. Return Fire (epic battle game of capture the flag on the original PS1. Would be amazing if they brought it back with online multiplayer)
4. Super Mario Sunshine - rumor has it may be coming to the Switch. Such a chill, amazing vibe.
5. Battlefield 1942 - remake the graphics, and add some more islands, still may be my favorite multiplayer war game of all time.

Actually drug my Xbox out yesterday to play some NFL2K5 and after pulled the PGR2 disc. That giant Xbox controller was a throwback.

Games I want a reboot of? TOCA, but a new BTCC game is supposed to co e out in the next2 years. I would love a reboot of Giant Gram, a great Japanese wrestling game on the Dreamxcast.
