Jedi Fallen Order

Post by Danimal »

Just thought I would get a thread started. Pre-loaded the PC version off Origin Premire last night. Doesn't unlock to the 14th so not much advanced time on this one like other premier titles. Not sure if that means anything or not.

They posted on twitter there wouldn't be an early release for spoiler reasons. I haven't bought it yet, probably play through my ea access trial when it is released and try to hold off for a sale unless the gameplay and story overwhelms me.

I think they said in the same announcement that there would be no trial, which was another red flag to some? Or was it just no "early" trial? I understood it to be that there was no 10-hour trial at all, but it would make sense if it was truly to avoid spoilers that they'd simply push it back until Friday and then do it.

Yeah I thought it was no early trial, will suck if there is no 10 hour trial once the game is released.

I plan to buy it although the lack of MP mode is disappointing.

Revising my opinion this game is pretty fantastic so far and the story is really compelling.

I'm damned impressed. Got this because my oldest is a big SW geek. But it's a pretty awesome game mechanic.

I've played more. I'll just say it: this is the most impressive SW game I've ever played. Story is top notch, acting is top notch, swordplay, all of it. They've figured out how to make you a Jedi without making you a superhero. Enemies are dangerous, and must be considered with care. Damn, this is good.

I’ve been following the thread. Just haven’t pulled the trigger. Perhaps Black Friday.

It’s a great adventure. A mixture of Uncharted, Tomb Raider and all the magic that this title brings Star Wars style. It’s the type of game I don’t want to rush it cause the story is very intriguing with great dialogues and lately I’ve been more focused on CoD and BFV but definitely a good pick up if you see a deal next weekend. Just really wish there was MP.

A lot of the Xbox deals are set to come along with this game already.

I don't think there's much of any EA games on Game Pass.

This game is better than any Disney SW movie. By a mile. Much better story.

Disney Star Wars movies are not exactly a high bar but you did say better by a mile...

Im on the fence on this one not because its Star Wars but mainly because of all the jumpy platformy stuff I see in videos.

The only SWD flick that remotely comes close is Rogue One. And I know it's still not a high bar, but regardless, it's excellent. Platforming and all.

I'm not feeling this game at all. I'm going to finish, because the story and presentation are top-notch, but I despise the platform-y stuff and I don't think it works at all with the idea of the story. Going from being a jedi bad ass one minute, deflecting blaster shots from a half-dozen stormtroopers and dispatching them with ease, and then tumbling ass over tea-kettle because I missed a jump onto one of the 6,000 whirling fan thigamajigs the next is just too irritating for words.

I understand 100% of this is my prejudices and lack of skill at platforming, but it really takes me out of the mental space where I'm enjoying the story when I have to respawn because of a die-and-learn design in some areas as well.

I picked this up today, turned on surround sound and it definitely has that epic Star Wars feel to it. Looks great in HDR and is a nice mix of combat, Tomb Raider type stuff. I love games that have you doing different things instead of one thing over and over.

Looking forward to playing it more over the next few days.

Either this game is hard as hell or my old butt don't have the super stick skillz anymore.

Resting and having the monsters respawn isn't the best approach either.

There was a lot of rinse and repeat for me in the beginning. But once you perk up nicely and your lightsaber gets stronger, it’s a blast.
