I'd be willing to bet that you'll be able to get a system either via pre-order leading up to launch or even at a retailer on launch day.
I'm banking on that. Also no worries if I must wait until Black Friday or early December. There will be no deals on the X or S, but there should be more units in stock.

No doubt I can't wait for true 4K gaming, faster load times, etc. But my disappointment at not snagging an X yesterday is tempered by the fact the launch lineup for the X/S is lukewarm, at best.

Good point. I was too kind with my initial statement!

Destruction All Stars (Lucid Games / XDEV) – $69.99
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales – $49.99
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Mile Morales Ultimate Edition – $69.99
Sackboy A Big Adventure (Sumo Digital / XDEV) – $59.99

XBX
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Destiny 2: Beyond Light
Gears Tactics
Tetris Effect: Connected
Watch Dogs: Legion
The Falconeer
Yakuza: Like a Dragon

I like this synopsis :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xgpb3Zk7auY

I do agree it is confusing w/ the different names of the new Xbox. If i'm not a hardcore gamer it can get confusing.

Caveat emptor. While the new nomenclature is confusing, it's up to the consumer to do research and not be a dipsh*t.

Paul, if I can locate a PS5, I’ll happily part with my Series X.

Thanks, Dan. But I'm sincere when I say I can wait. Not a problem at all.

Plus I'm always wary of technical and engineering glitches in launch consoles. And if I get a bad one sent from one of you guys, it could be cumbersome to return since the machine wasn't purchased in my name or on my credit card.

Pretty sure if you’re not a hardcore player that mistakes have been made.

The lineup through the end of the year isn't interesting either, just the usual multiplatform franchises.

Would be more enticing if you could play current generation games with enhancements on the new consoles. It might require the developers patching their games though, which they might not have much incentive to do.

Admit it 10s we will understand if you happened to be one of PKs dipshits. You can always use a second XBox One X or did you get an S or a 360? Its all so confusing.

No Forza or Gran Turismo 7 means I can wait a while & see how this generation plays out. PlayStation 4 has been my primary console for the past couple of years, but I’m leaning hard towards Xbox this time around. I really believe Gamepass and backwards compatibility are putting the Xbox on a solid footing moving forward.

My Best Buy order was canceled so I am without an XBX again.

Sigh

That's a bunch of crap! Sorry to hear that.

Wario64 on Twitter is a good person to follow. He posts very quickly when stores are doing preorders.

I managed to snag an S on the MSN site at launch. We'll see if it shows up. Figured I can flip it when I find an X available.

Still hoping for a PS5 too

As much as I want the new hotness PS5, I literally haven’t turned my 4 Pro on in weeks besides my son playing like ten minutes of GT Sport. I’m going to try real hard to wait to get the PS5 Digital until March when the new The Show comes out. Still not sure it’s coming out on the other systems yet. So I guess that is my plan over the next few months.

Get ready to pay to expand the storage capacity on the next gen Xbox. Seagate storage will cost around $220.

Even more ridiculous is you can still plug in usb drives but you can’t play next gen games from it...only this generation. Eeesh, since it’s really damn easy to blow through 1tb, especially with game pass.

Only a major problem if you really like to play a lot of different games in the same timeframe or if you have an Internet data cap. I install and uninstall games from my combined 1 TB of internal and external drives on my OG Xbox One all the time.

And my next question will be what is the TBW/durability of the internal SSD because SSD's have a finite amounts of writes? After awhile they begin to fail and constantly rewriting an SSD cuts down its lifespan. The same question goes out for the PS5 as well.
