Wow. Super cool. I don't follow baseball at all after living for it as a kid, but I've always enjoyed baseball video games. High Heat, MVP, Interplay Sports Baseball 2000 (!!!).

Mizzou, here is a video about the “March to October Mode”. The mode lets you get thru an entire season somewhat quickly. It inserts you into specific games during the season. Scroll to about the 1:00 mark of the video.
As I mentioned in a previous post, the development team is superb. They are, honestly, guys like us who just love the sport AND gaming. Every year they go into Twitch once a week about a month before release and show all the new things in the game. They just sit on a couch and use PS4 streaming to unveil stuff. They always give out prizes during those sessions. It’s always very cool in February when you are getting hungry for baseball.

Is there a fast play option that skips all the stuff not dealing with actual pitching and hitting?
I never really could get into even MLB 2k because the games just took so long to play.

Was just looking at your original post and YES there is a fast play mode that has MINIMAL presentation stuff. There is FULL (everything...all replays and presentation, etc), NORMAL and FAST (minimal interruption).
With all the other games available right now I have been playing a franchise on MLB The Show 19 with fictional rosters Its been fun “getting to know” my team. If you like baseball it’s such a fun game to play. All the incremental improvements over the years have made this thing so good. When you XBox only guys get your hands on this in 2021 you will be shocked at all the little things the game does. It’s crazy. Playing MLB The Show 21 on the Xbox Series X is going to be a dream.
Broadcasted some Diamond Dynasty and some franchise (with fictional rosters) earlier tonight. In Diamond Dynasty there is very little extra stuff...replays etc. but you will see plenty of them in the franchise portion of the video. Franchise game starts at about the 41:00 mark.
Looks like the real minor leaguers will be in the game this year. The Show community always creates a REAL MINORS set every year which is out fairly quickly but it looks like it will be in there by default this year.
Another nice addition is the ability to edit and move your franchise. Does this mean they are going to have a stadium creator in the game? Who knows. Perhaps it will be a BIG reveal during one of their Twitch streams in Feb. Russell (leader of dev team) likes doing that. The community has been asking for this feature for years.
The first stream today was dealing with defensive fundamentals. Interesting details on how they made the game more user-centric. If you watch this it will show you how intricate the dev team gets.
The 2nd stream details how they have tweaked some aspects of hitting.
