Opening this up for impressions. I will probably buy this today even though I don't know why i want it. If anyone is playing, please post impressions.

I played the beta for a few hours and was underwhelmed. I really miss human NPCs and wasn't a fan of the "chase the next log file" gameplay. I've got it on Xbox and PC, though, so I'll check them out and see what the full version is like.

It's live on PC now, for anybody who's planning on playing it there.

I went to purchase last night and I guess I was unaware but this isn't on Steam, GOG or any other digital platform, just from Betheseda. I don't need another digital platform in my life and every review I read was blah, so I went and played AC instead. If you tell me it is good I will reconsider.

Based on the initial impressions, you can pass on it.

I've got it sitting next to my Xbox that has RDR2 in it. not sure when I'll get to it. Crazy to say for a Fallout game.

I picked up an extra Xbox One X and for some reason the Fallout 76 version was 400 bucks vs. the other versions that were 500...so I've got a code if anyone wants it? I have zero interest in playing it. LOL.

First to respond here and I'll send it along.

Thanks to DB's generous offer, I finally got to trying out this game and the impressions are pretty valid. You don't get the feeling you're in a living world, it's pretty barren. Occasionally you come across a real player but even that is kind of sparse. No NPC's to interact with and the game is really poor at guiding you along. Not saying it needs to hold your hand but at least in most Bethesda games it nudges you along by giving the choice of what to do next and how to get there. I'm not seeing that in Fallout 76. I plan on playing it more but so far the game is pretty meh.

Graphics wise the game looks ok, nothing special on the original Xone One. The landscape is a blurred mess if you have depth of field enabled. I'm sure it will probably look better on the 1X.

Fallout 76 later this year is getting NPC's in the game so hopefully it will change the game play for the better.

It's a f***in sad day when Bethesda's E3 announcement is NPC's being added to their game and admitting we released it before it was done.

But at least they haven't abandoned the game so in a way that's a plus but Doom Eternal looks like another solid Doom sequel.
