I dont believe City can beat Spurs 3 times in a row. Spurs will win one at least and if thats the league game well...
Looking forward to April

Liverpool also can thank my Newcastle's 2-1 win over City in late January as a fulcrum if the Reds win the title. That was one of the most surprising upsets of the season.10spro wrote:They may look back at this game should they win the PL. Since Son came in, not only Spurs tied the game thanks to a brilliant heads up by Kane but also had two brilliant chances to go ahead, one by Alli and the two on one between Sissoko and Son. The Frenchman did Liverpool a big favour.

Sheesh. That was almost a disaster.
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2018/19
Ref should get stricter or the game is going to get out of hand in the second half. There’s been great playing on both sides, Mane seems to be the only threat so far up front.
The speed of the forwards for Barcelona is creating some chaos for Liverpool. You can’t send three men to mark Messi, he’s going to find an open lane eventually.
Entertaining first half.

Oh if Messi could do all the wonderful stuff for his National team, the way he makes it look so brilliantly for Barcelona. Just in awe.

Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2018/19
What an insane game. When a team plays like Liverpool did and have bad luck/finishing, that still ends up a 1-2, 2-1, 2-2 match. For it to end 3-0 is 100% down to Messi's genius.
Liverpool can absolutely put 3 past them at Anfield, but I don't think they can do it without opening up the game in a way that gives at least 2 to Messi. Just heartbreaking.

Yes. The lack of finishing was the end of them. Frustrating and sad.RobVarak wrote:What an insane game. When a team plays like Liverpool did and have bad luck/finishing, that still ends up a 1-2, 2-1, 2-2 match. For it to end 3-0 is 100% down to Messi's genius.

Messi is Messi.
I agree. I dont see the way out but stranger things have happened.
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2018/19
The final score is not indicative of what happened on the field, but when you have Messi, a Barca fan can easily argue that the score could have been 5-1. Don’t know how Salah missed that open net.

Spurs have been struggling for awhile, in both tournaments. Kane has been on the sidelines, Son has been hurt on and off, and Pochettino just can’t buy a break. The level of frustration has reached its peak with two key ejections today losing eventually their game. Son’s reaction says it all.

I'm dead. Actually dead, and writing this from the afterworld. 3 solid months of these Game 7-type games just killed me.

HAha Rob. Not over yet Mate. 2 more coming up here, City tomorrow(come on Brendan) and Barca at home. Just need to finish this time, i still feel good.
But to think after the dust settles they may end up with nothing is incredible.
What an awesome season no matter what and its going to be hard to improve from here just more of the same for next season.

ManU needs to sack Ole and rehire him as the interim mgr. Yikes, they gone downhill pretty quick after he was appointed permanent mgr.

What a gut punch!
Leicester never looked like they could hold City off as the game developed. Then, just before the Kompany strike, after the Schmeichel save, I had just a momentary spark of hope. Horrible.

Me too. Ugh. I literally thought about a Kompany goal a few of his little runs into the LC side of the field, but don't know if I've seen him score many non-headers recently...so dismissed it. Woops.RobVarak wrote:What a gut punch!

It was his first goal from outside the box in 12 years...

you cant write this s***. It was as good as Messi's free kick and as devastating.

Her we go!
Hopefully they are channeling some Dortmund Europa league and Istanbul.
Come on, Kompany did something even his manager thought he couldn't do.
Whose going to be our Stevie G this time.
