Re: NFL 2018
I’m not a big fan of Chucky but it’s two games in.
It’s not as if the team he inherited was setting the world on fire.
Their defense wasn’t great even with Mack.
So far NONE of the teams which gave huge contracts to defensive players have won rings.
That could change with the cap going up but then salaries are going up too, so they take up about the same percentage of the cap.

True--but Mack was the only thing that made the defense watchable. I love seeing him surrounded by other good players on defense like he's got in Chicago. He's doing what he did for the Raiders, but he can't be triple teamed every snap (literally, that's all opponents did).wco81 wrote:I’m not a big fan of Chucky but it’s two games in.

The only hope is that this is viewed as a Hershel Walker type of trade 5 years from now. But it's crazy that he'd trade him now, for players not on the roster, getting no help this season. It made it worse when both starting DTs were hurt in week 1, and they had to sign and play street FAs in week 2, but still...I can't believe he'd sit up there and say "we need pass rush" right after shipping one of the best on the planet out the door when there was absolutely no reason to do it at that time.

Frank Caliendo does a great Chuckie
Re: NFL 2018
He's got a 10 year deal.
Maybe he wants to rebuilt it all.
Of course his record of player personnel decisions with the Bucs is very mixed at best.

Re: NFL 2018
Baker Mayfield has looked great after replacing future HOF’er Tyrod Taylor.

Meanwhile Darnold throws a pick in the following drive.

Re: NFL 2018
Hue Jackson must turn over the keys to the Browns' offense to Mayfield after last night's win, right?
Then again, it's Hue Jackson. Anything is possible. He might call Brobie from "Hard Knocks," sign him to a deal and start him over Mayfield next week.

Re: NFL 2018
If Jackson doesn't make Mayfield the starter for the rest of the season barring injuries he'll be on the unemployment line. No way in hell you play Taylor over Mayfield. Mayfield's debut was as good as it gets.pk500 wrote:Hue Jackson must turn over the keys to the Browns' offense to Mayfield after last night's win, right?

Re: NFL 2018
It is probably 50/50 of him benching Tyrod... c'mon...it is the Browns we are talking about.
Re: NFL 2018
Dorsey will make that decision, not Hugh,,and Brownies fans may make 10 cent beer night look like a poetry reading if he doesn't start And its not like they don't have a pair of former head coaches as coordinators in Greg Williams and Todd Haley.Sudz wrote:It is probably 50/50 of him benching Tyrod... c'mon...it is the Browns we are talking about.

Can’t believe Indy didn’t challenge the Nelson Agholor reception that got the Eagles a CRUCIAL 1st Down late in the game. Agholor CLEARLY stepped out before jumping for the 1st. No red hankie. Wow. Thank you Frank Reich.

Re: NFL 2018
C. Matthews got another inexistent roughing the passer penalty for the second week in a row. Just some horrible calls out there.
