First of all, I apologize to @fatheadx who contacted me via DM to ask how I was after hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico. Even though I've been logging in frequently, I didn't noticed I had an unread/new message. Thank you for your concern, brother!

Let me take this opportunity to answer your message and share my situation with all of you,

My family and I are in good health an luckily our home didn't suffer major damage.

We finally got water service back up a couple of weeks ago but we're still without power. (I'm actually waiting for an inverter generator a family member in Tampa sent me the be shipped via UPS but it's stuck at the airport down here. All shipping companies and USPS have been having a horrible issues with lost/stolen/broken/delayed packages, so that's been frustrating to say the least.)

We live in the metro area (Bayamon) so other that the fact that most of us don't have power, life has basically come back to some kind of normalcy.

Unfortunately people on the south and center of the island are in really bad shape still. Pretty limited access to clean water, drinking water, food, supplies, wireless mobile phone signal etc etc.

I'm blessed that the company I work for has kept chugging along (IT company) and I'm involved on some projects so that has kept me busy.

My wife works as an independent social media specialist for a couple of clients and they've kept her working but she's in the process of being employed by FEMA as a inspector, so that should keep her busy too (plus earn some good $ in the process).

So again, I'm happy to report that we're doing ok (great compared to a lot of people out there really suffering).

Our plan is to try to stick it out as long as possible, we want to make things work in our homeland, but the possibility to jump to the states is always looming. We'll see...

Anyways, resume your regularly schedule reading/posting!

Att

Javier

Glad to hear you're okay buddy. Tough sledding down there I'm sure. Just can't imagine what some of your countrymates are going through.

Thanks for checking in, Javi. Glad to hear your life is getting back on track. Heartbreaking what's happening around the island.

Hang in there. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help, man!

Thanks for posting and letting everyone know.

Relieved to hear you and Family are safe.

Here's hoping and praying PR gets back on its feet sooner than later.

Great to hear from you Javi. I echo what the others have said: it’s good to hear that you and yours are healthy and safe, and it’s tragic how bad the repercussions have been in PR from this awful storm. Hoping for the best for you and the residents of the entire island.

Glad to hear you are safe, Javi. I visited Puerto Rico about a year ago and absolutely loved it. The sights, the food, and the people were all awesome. I hope PR is back and better than ever soon!

Hang in there. I have numerous coworkers and cycling pals from PR with family and friends still living there. Been hearing numerous firsthand accounts of the many challenges. Hurricanes suck. When Ike hit, we were only without power for a couple of days. I can't fathom being without such creature comforts for weeks on end.
