What. A. Game.

Japan clearly thought they had the advantage if they kept attacking, yet that is what killed them in the end. That and the size of Lukaku and Fellini on the crosses.

Absolutely incredible comeback by Belgium.

One of the greatest games i’ve Ever watched. Just astounding.

And just before the winner Japan had an unbelievable free kick that took a brilliant save by the Belgian keeper to keep out.

WOW!

s*** I tuned out after the first half.

I didn't know Roberto Martinez was their manager. If they lost this match, he would have had a hard time ever getting another job.

Props to Japan for not parking the bus. Amazing how passes into the box by Belgium bred goals. :)

One of the sad things PK is that it often seems like teams who play in the proper spirit of the game end up losing while the cynical faking wankers ( I’m looking at you Neymar and Russia) continue on. Hope that Belgium beat Brazil and that Neymar gets a good kick in the nuts so that he can finally legitimately roll around in agony.

Good lord that half of football had enough fantastic moments for three full games!

Good win for the Swedes. Imagine if that last minute push in ET involved Neymar. He would have rolled all the way to the net.

Whoever called for blood and guts football is getting it in the ENG v COL match. Columbia has resorted to thuggery and muggings.

Never in doubt.

We looked absolutely fine for 65 minutes. Then the Colombian sh*thousery, allied to a referee who had only slightly more control over proceedings than I did, seemed to get inside our heads just before Dier came on to completely imbalance our midfield. Quite why we ended up so deep, quite why only Kane had the nous to kill a few seconds and draw a niggly foul, quite how Kieran Trippier lost six inches in height at his own far post...

Never mind. Not important. Onward!

When the ref allowed only a yellow card to Barrios in the first half, he basically told everyone that the rough stuff was allowed. A mistake. That deserved a red card, he may have missed the English player by a chin but you just can’t do that stuff. The pushing and shoving continued on.

It was a horrible game to watch, when Colombia tied it late, I am pretty sure that the UK fans went ‘Oh No’ but Kane was pretty lethal from 12 yards.

All the UK commentators are resentful of Neymar's antics.

Heads might explode if Brazil wins the cup.

Interesting debate about Neymar's theatrics on the surprisingly good "World Cup Tonight" last night on FOX. Hosts Fernando Fiore and Kate Abdo, along with manager Guus Hiddink, ripped Neymar for his acting. Meanwhile, American Cobi Jones defended it.

The refs are the problem. If you don't go down you don't get a call that simple.
They created this environment now they have to sort it out.

And yet they twiddle their thumbs while Ashley Young does the same thing. At least one of those guys is a world-class footballer in addition to being a shitty actor.

Could be worse, we could have Dejan Lovren as a defender.

To be fair, outside of Van Djik he was Liverpools best defender. Had a pretty decent year at the back for them.

If Cavani is a no go, it’ll be difficult but not impossible for Uruguay to advance to the semis. L. Suarez would be the lone ranger and they would have to deviate from their 4-4-2 formation. Their midfield is still young and the French should continue to explore Mbappe’s speed along Griezmann. They have a strong D though and if they can stretch it to ET, anything can happen.

I do hope that the Belgians can pull the upset on Brazil. This is the type of game where I can see De Bruyne making a big difference, as Casemiro will be missed by the Brazillians. I picked them to go all the way though, hope we see a close one.

Belgium better not fall behind like they did against Japan.

De Bruyne seems to have a minor role compared to the way he plays for City. Seems like his role is not as one of Belgium's top players.
