Battlefield 1

Figured I'd give BF1 its own thread instead of the BF4 thread. Anyways...

EA Access news...I enjoyed the beta more than I thought so I'm a day 1 guy. Looks like we get it 8 days before release.

Fantastic! I preordered this after the first night I played the beta. LOVED the beta. Can't wait for this game.

I also have this preordered. I didn't see you guys on BF4, but the few times we partied up in SWBF were fun. Hope we can get together for BF1. I'll be playing the heck out of this online, especially after the official release.

Played a bit of the campaign and some multiplayer over the weekend through early release on EA Access. Nothing has changed from my impression of the beta: This game is FANTASTIC. Can't wait to get my disc version this Friday!

Agreed. Graphically its a step up from BF4. My "Early Enlister" digital version unlocks tomorrow night :). I'll be on tonight for a bit. The the EA Access glitch is annoying as hell though.

I love how the game is back to basics because of the depicted era. Basic guns, tanks, explosives. No laser-guided, uber scopes, ecto suits or drones.

The maps are insane. I love fighting in the rubble of Amiens.

AWESOME map.
My 11-year-old was a killing machine on that map tonight in multiplayer. Made me proud and morose. The little f*cker is far better than me and my aged reflexes. :)

This game is absolutely crazy...

That intro is definitely awesome. Hopped on for some Conquest and literally got my ass handed to me. Think I was 0-15...so not exactly starting my career off too well.

Playing on the PC and damn is this game gorgeous in DirectX 12 mode on ultra everything on 3440x1440 res. Glad I upgraded the PC/Monitor this summer in anticipation. This is a showpiece for sure.

Sold.....based on all of the comments above and I just got my new LG curved 34" Freesync monitor at 3440x1440 I am ready to go.

Did you do the Origin pre-order? Not familiar with Origin like I am with EA Access for Xbox One.

I'm going to be picking the game up at lunch, but after work I'm going on a two day camping/golfing excursion. Thursday looks like it may be a washout though, if so I'll be home later that morning and looking to play BF1 quite a bit that afternoon. I've seen some of the videos Diablo posted on Xbox and it looks great!

I just pre-ordered on Origin and it called it the "early enlister edition" and lets you play 4 days earlier. So it went live, the full game, last night.

Just signed up for Origin and will pre-order this evening. Will download and play this evening. Thanks for the feedback and help!

F*ck, yeah, Bill!

I hate this word to my core, as it's so overused and cliche, but it's the only one I can devise to describe BF1: AWESOME. :)

It may be arcady but I really loved the flying war story it was just a lot of fun playing that story line.

How is the single player campaign? I don't have any desire to play online. Is it an awesome story like bad company was, or is it just a 6 hour cookie cutter while online is the main point of the game? Getting killed by 13 year old red bull fueled punk kids isn't my idea of fun.

I like the way it is done but it's not a long story like any previous game focusing on one character. It's called War Stories and you take on the roles of different people and their stories in the war.

I did half of the Tank one and the full air campaign one. The air one called Friends in High Places was fun. I think 5 or 6 chapters and it kept me busy for 2-3 hours, maybe more. I can't recall how many there are, I want to say 5.

As for the online, my skills have shrunk with age but you can still have fun. I never felt like I was being killed by someone who has better weapons because they played 45 hours, it was usually just someone with better skill.
