Too many days off in between usually affects the momentum for teams that had any. Bruins didn’t have the legs for sure in the first period while the Blues were more physical. Once the second period started, the speed of the Bruins took over, passes were crispier and the fourth line just took over. It’ll be interesting to see if Chara can return in game 2 after taking that heavy shot from Tarasenko late in the game.

Those persistent penalties ended up costing any momentum the Blues had early in the game.

Yes sir.. up 2 goals we took too many stupid penalties.. although we should of had a 5 on 3 when Chara slashed Bozak but like all hockey games, it's random what they will call.

This is what the Bruin c*** have been doing for years.

They are dirty garbage. DO NOT RETALIATE!

Bring your balls.

The NHL will kiss their assholes no matter what! Play smart!

Play hockey!

Let them be the c*** they are, play hockey and you will win.

Play into their gutter and you will be destroyed.

Yep, cut down those penalties especially when you're In the opponents’ end and create more traffic in front of T. Rask. They have the big bodies to do it.

Traffic. That’s exactly how they scored in the first period in addition to Tarasenko’s great second effort. They look focused but they got to be careful with those boarding calls. Granted I would never turn my neck awkwardly around the boards because it puts you in a very vulnerable position, but being physical which the Blues have been doesn’t equal being dumb. Stay focused.

"Temperature today in the mid 50s today in Boston"

Thanks Doc. What would that have to do with bad ice? Should it not have to be hot?

That was playoffs hockey. Tight, physical, Blues were physical since the first minute and with the locals reeling only with 5 D’s since the first period they kept coming hard to the Bruins. I don’t like one bit how Sundqvist hit Grzelcyk from behind, that’s a one gamer for me, but they kept their focus.

Marchand was frustrated, Bergeron (I suspect he’s not 100%) didn’t look as sharp in the face off circle.

Good win for the Blues.

That hit wasn't meant for his head.. he was definitely in an awkward position turning his body like that... I hope he's ok.

Hell of a game tonight by the Blues though, they played a tough, physical game. The PK was great tonight as well. Great to see Gunny get redemption!

GLORIA!!! Our first EVER SCF win!

Whether he meant it or not, that head was rocked. Solidly and heavily. With two days until the next game, I would be shocked if he doesn’t get at least a hearing in the call. Trust me, he’ll be suspended.

Again, I give them credit for maintaining their focus, guys like Sundqvist and Blais were frustrating the rat Marchand and his line the whole night who couldn’t control his emotions several times.

If Bergeron is not healthy to take key faceoffs as it happened late in the game, that’s a huge plus for the Blues.

For the first time in a LONG time, Binny was below average tonight. These Bruins sure do get a lot of power plays.

But to be fair, the Blues played similarly to game 1. You gotta be physical with the Bruins but you can’t run around doing so especially in the BOS’ D zone. When they scored early on the PP of the second period, you could tell Berube was pretty much thinking about the next game already. Binnington should bounce back and the Blues should go back to the tapes of game two where they were physical and smart shutting down the Bergeron line.

Their PP has been lethal throughout the playoffs, just stay disciplined. I think there’s more Gloria’s left...

I like our chances 5 on 5. Just stay out of the box.. heck, stay off the PP too since we give up more than we get on the advantage.

Keep it 5 on 5 and let's grab Game 5!!!

It was a perfect road game for the Blues, as they weathered the first period and pretty much contained the Bruins’ speed in the neutral zone. Binnington was big, had good control on the rebounds and you could sense he was in the zone. Huge home game now for St Louis, they need to wrap this up because I just don’t see them winning in BOS three times in a row.

Sing it Gloria...

Get it done at home. And the reason why I keep mentioning that you don’t want to go back to BOS, although I love to see game 7’s, there were two brutal non calls that went against the Bruins including the eventual winning goal, something that was pretty much the norm in these playoffs every two, three games of any series.

‘Binner’, is the key.
