The Beautiful Game of Football, 2017-2018 Season

Post by 10spro »

Time for a new thread as the season started already a couple for weeks ago.

Tough luck for Hull today as they defended so well, in fact were close to shock ManU in ET and the very next play, they concede the winning goal. It was a nice play by Shrek over the wing side while needling the pass to Rashford.

What a defensive stance by Hull City vs ManU. It took ManU into the final minutes to pullout a win and what a goal. Question for those who closely follow the Sport. Is Pogba overrated? I don't see a player worth the money, yes he's good but the most expensive player in the world? Not seeing that, yet.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a badass 8)

He's a solid player, he had his issues when he started his career with ManU but he's growing up nicely and still young. I wouldn't have payed all that cash, but the Reds are going all the way this season, so we'll see if it pays off in the end for them.

Really enjoying a good laugh at David Squires football comics in the Guardian:

haven't had a football comic this enjoyable since the demise of Ormondroyd.

Pepe Guardiola didn't waste anytime in disposing players that he won't use after an offseason of heavy spending. Gone are Hart, Nasri and Bony.

Will D. Luiz return to Chelsea?

Hart is on the downward slope. But hitting the eject button on quality players like Bony and Nasri shows the impressive squad quality and depth at City.

They're up in the 400's, usually.

Haha, Rooney pulled a move I used to do in FIFA, i.e. "slide tackle" the Keeper without the ball.

I caught the game late but Man City seems to be outplaying ManU.

Hard fought derby and not as cagey as I thought it would be as in most derby matches. First half City played as if they were at home controlling the pace of tha game thanks to a good show by Silva and before ManU knew what hit them, they were down by a couple. I thought Nolito played well in Aguero's absence and their D wasn't challenged until the second half.

It all changed with youngster Rashford coming in who was impressive last weekend.

A shaky Bravo gave the Reds a boost and was fortunate not to get the boot after the tackle. If he continues that trend, fans may regret deeply the departure of Hart. Entertaining game and in the end it just wasn't enough for Old Traffird fans after their lackadaisical first half.

Rashford appears to be a Gem. Hopefully he stays at ManU.

Liverpool fans must be rejoicing. Just brilliant one touch passes leading to the 2 goal lead. The chip pass was exceptional (Lallana-Milner?) to Sturridge and back heel to Mane. Pretty.

Still lots to play, either this game goes out of hand or LEI makes a strong come back.

All good except for Lucas trying out for the Dragons.

After Lallana's goal I am over it but damn he did get me to make a screwdriver. That was the kerfuffle of the year for sure.

Gonna be a few more of them with Mingolet and playing it out of the back like that , even if its not a make shift back 4.

Liverpool are going to have to keep scoring lots of goals because they are going to concede. I may be bald by the end of the season.

West Ham made some highlight-worthy plays including a gorgeous dribble and cross by Payet on the way to a 2-0 lead only to give up 4 straight goals to Watford and lose.

Watford made some slick plays of their own.

Arsenal escape with a last-minute win aided by a penalty.

Is Watford that good? Because they are taking it to ManU. Whenever I see a GK in either PES or FIFA give the ball over to the other side i'll think of De Gea. ManU are seriously lucky they aren't down 0-2 in the 1st half.

Beautiful strike by Pogba that just "barely" missed the net from long range.

Well it looks like the Jose Mourinho league domination will have to wait as ManU lost 1-3 which should have been 1-4 if not for the missed Watford gimme.

What's the best game to watch this weekend?

Arsenal vs. Chelsea?

ManU vs. LEI?

Other?

May have to record both as 11:30 a.m. is a little late in the morning to watch as I have things going on and 6:30 a.m. is too early to get up on a weekend.....
