Defense was the weak point at different times over this past year but I did not see today's shitstorm of a performance coming at all, bad execution and bad coaching. Hope the Jags or anyone in the NFC knocks the Pats off their perch.10spro wrote:I had high hopes in your team Vader, tough loss.

Horrendous 4th&1 playcalling was the biggest setback for the Steelers. As a Steeelrs fan, I’m intrigued to see the Jags play the Pats. Think Jax has a real shot of winning if Bortles doesn’t botch the game. If the Jags can find a QB, they will be scary good the next few years.

Luck. Horrible play by the safety.
And Keenum, on the previous drive for FG, was putting it up for grabs a couple of time and had to settle for 55-yard FG, which left too much time for Brees.
Re: NFL 2016/2017
Unreal win by the Vikings! Being a Packers fan, hard to like the Vikings but hard not to like what they have done with that team. That said, have to root for Doug Peterson & Co. next Sunday.
Re: NFL 2016/2017
Only thing I can think is that the safety was afraid of getting to the player too early and the pi call. But yes that was a terrible play by the safety.wco81 wrote:10spro wrote:Wow, those Vikings...Just wow!

Unreal. I feel bad for that safety. He’s gonna be sick for months.

I'm pretty sure I just saw someone intentionally throw an NFL game.
Viking should be one and done, worst tackle attempt ever and I'm not convinced he didn't miss it on purpose.

Re: NFL 2016/2017
I don't remember the down but there was like 10 seconds when that play was snapped.
Where were the other DBs? They should have ignored the shallow routes and drop back and stay back, guard the sidelines. Even if the Vikings caught one of the shorter passes, they probably wouldn't have time to kill the clock or advance enough for a decent FG attempt (though you never know inside the dome).
Safety had to come down to try to meet the WR. If he came slowly, the WR might have had time to cut inside or juke and get by him anyways, with the other DBs guarding the more shallow routes.

Re: NFL 2016/2017
I would have to watch the whole play again. But if my memory does not fail me, Vikings had like 10 seconds left correct? If the safety wrapped his arms around Diggs like he should have, that would have taken the momentum of the hit out of bound maybe with what 2-3 seconds left? Vikings would still have sealed the deal unless they miss the easy FG.
Kudos for the Saints for coming back after a lackluster first half.

Re: NFL 2016/2017
Are you guys on drugs?
His timing was perfect all he had to do was wrap tackle and game over. Digs caught it with 5 seconds left and he could of tackled him easily without forcing him out of bounds. Even if he did get out it is a 52-53 yard field goal attempt.
He dove and tried to big hit him with his shoulder and not only that rotated to the wrong side. I re-watched that 10 times it looks like he is purposely avoiding him. Worst tackle attempt I've ever seen considering the situation. With Philly a s*** show at QB that means a Pats - Viking Superbowl and another Pats championship.

The Super Bowl could feature Blake Bortles vs. Nick Foles or Case Keenum at QB. A sure sign of the impending apocalypse.

Unlikely, but it would be slightly more entertaining than Kerry Collins and Trent Dilfer in SB XXXV, no?pk500 wrote:The Super Bowl could feature Blake Bortles vs. Nick Foles or Case Keenum at QB. A sure sign of the impending apocalypse.

Ah, memories. I was trying to think of a worse actual matchup in the Big Bowl than this prospective pairing. You nailed it!10spro wrote:Unlikely, but it would be slightly more entertaining than Kerry Collins and Trent Dilfer in SB XXXV, no?pk500 wrote:The Super Bowl could feature Blake Bortles vs. Nick Foles or Case Keenum at QB.
