Game is easily the best in more than a decade.

And the Rams have a stacked defensive line, and arguably the best running back in the game. If those 2 things click, they can win a lot of games. Unfortunately, they don't simulate the "Jeff Fisher idiocy" in Madden, so they can't go 7-9 with that talent.

Goff threw for 380 and 4 against me. Very solid offense all around. I don't know much about the rams, but if they become successful right after moving cities, that's unfortunate for the people of st Louis. Steven Jackson was my favorite player for a long time. He could have left STL and played for a contender, but he's a loyal and humble guy.

Anyone else getting a LOT of block in the back penalties called on their team? I was getting easily 2-3 every game, which is crazy as that isn't a common penalty in real life. I would watch the replay and it wasn't even close to being a penalty. Seemed to happen on kick returns where I broke it big. I turned the slider down and it fixed it for me.

After winning the SB on all pro with the Vikings (14-2) I started a franchise with Pittsburgh on Madden. Pitt defense is not on the Vikings level, so it's a struggle. I can't even sniff the QB, much less sack him. Fun stuff!

I agree. I have enjoyed the game off and on over the years, but this is the first iteration I have been really excited about since the Xbox days. Offense in particular is a blast, and the special teams changes have completely reinvigorated that aspect of the game. I won a game last night in my solo franchise after tying it up on an 80-yard Hail Mary play, something that probably never would have worked in previous iterations. I had that genuine rush of excitement that I haven't felt in a long time with this franchise.

My gripes so far are mostly minor. The lack of injuries on the OL sucks but that has been a bug for a while. I have played 8-10 games so far and have yet to see pass interference, and penalties in general are a little low. I also really wish that there were package/formation subs by the AI, where you might see pass rushing specialists get subbed in for nickel packages or have true goal line backs.

Overall, loving the play on the field. Now that I am doing a franchise, will have to see how the offseason stuff is, but I can tell I will at least get my money's worth this year.

A slider bump of 5-10 on defensive holding and PI will result in you seeing them and not in over abundance.

Imagine what this game will be like when it switches over to the Frostbite engine next year.

The game definitely is fun this year. It finally has eclipsed NFL 2K5 in just about every dept.

Expect some bugs with the new engine but the game should look even better if that's even possible.

The presentation has helped a lot. It's still not at the level NBA 2k is, but it's pretty good and adds to the entertainment value instead of being a distraction.

The physics have had such a cool impact on the game, too, much more than I expected they would. The way passes get broken up looks so much better. There was a play last night where my safety had a pass go off his hands in the endzone, fall to the ground, and the receive nearly caught the ball for the TD, but wound up trapping it. I also bounced a FG off the top of the crossbar and in for a score in a way that looked exactly like what you would see in a real game.

I do think Rod mentioning NFL 2k5 is apt. Madden finally has the organic feel that game had 10+ years ago, where there was momentum and unpredictability that provided the real-life feel that anything could happen on any given play.

Started a Steelers franchise. What a fun team to play with! Lost leveon bell for 7 weeks due to a broken collarbone. If you want to air it out, you'll love Pitt. Their defense isn't that great, bit it will suffice. Big Ben is not as mobile as i remember, but he's getting up in age so probably accurate. Still seeing the money plays in the pass game, but I avoid calling them. Running is the best part to me. In years past the CPU NEVER ran for more than 60-70 yards a game on me. In this game, I've given up multiple 60-70 yard td runs. If you sell out for a run up the middle and the back breaks it outside, he's gone. I've let a few backs go for over 200 against me, usually aided by a few super long runs where I blitz and he breaks it outside. I turned block in the back down to 10, but still seeing at least one every game. I've probably played 40 games and seen pass interference maybe 5 times. I'll adjust the slider like mentioned above.

I'd give this game a 9.5/10. It's what we've all been waiting for!

Started my Bears franchise over to have the real rosters, and in the 4th quarter of my game, I got disconnected from the EA servers. I played through, not realizing that my franchise wasn't going to save. Sure enough, after the game I got booted back to the main menu, and when I hit continue franchise, the game wasn't recorded. So irritating. I thought they had fixed that issue?

I think for the first time EA has given me a reason to buy Madden at release. I'm digging the updated commentary week by week, it definitely adds to the immersion while playing a game.

I've been messing around in play now games on default all pro, trying tofind a new team. Last game was me plating as Arizona vs Tampa bay. David Johnson ran for 313 and 3td, along with 50 receiving yards. Crazy. I usually average 100+ rushing, but he was unstoppableand broke tackles like nothing I've ever seen. Totals would have been even higher, but he fumbled twice.

You must be REALLY good at Madden, you should try playing Terry to measure your skill. :D

I'm dominant on all pro and garbage on Madden. I've yet to play online. Most of my points come from the CPU using way too much press coverage for an easy to. That and how bad they are when the qb scrambles. Someone is ALWAYS wide open for a big gain.

Maybe Madden is onto something. Tyrod Taylor JUST made one of those throws I was talking about. Roll out for a huge TD.

If it's in the game its in the game. :)

Its the first madden in a long time where I can't wait to play. I m doing a Rams Franchise and it's been very fun. Goff was terrible at the beginning of the year but now he's lights out at times. Usually by mid season in offline franchise I can dominate the CPU. But this year it's been challenging and rewarding.

Is the game playing differently for the rest of you? I don't know if it got harder after an update or what, but I'm seeing some insane stuff. I played a 15 minute quarter Gand on all pro, Vikings (me) at eagles.

Bradford threw for 577 yards and 5 TDs. He sucks in the game stats wise, but I couldn't stop him. I think he finished 40/53 or something insane. The issue I'm having is I can't get pressure for the life of me anymore. I watched one replay and he had EIGHT seconds in the pocket, while my blitzers just spun in place and got stonewalled. I used to get 3-5 sacks a game, but the last few games I maybe get 1 coverage sack per game. It sure seems like they made the offense lines a lot more stout. Any qb in this game will carve you up with enough time. I'm stopping the run but the pass is killing me. That eagles game I ended up losing 52-48. I threw for 420 and 5 td myself, but only had 104 yards rushing on 37 carries. Very weird stuff. I'm going to take a break from Madden for a while, I'm burnt out.

I haven't noticed anything different. 5 sacks a game seems pretty high. Last year Denver led the NFL with a 3.5 sacks per game average. I really don't find sack numbers to be the issue, pressure on the QB is at times. While I agree 8-9 seconds in the pocket is absurd I typically only see those types of things when I'm sending 3 guys and dropping 8. The QB / WR AI doesn't really do anything if everyone is covered and everyone is blocked on the line. I also find that I do better with pressure when I'm not controlling the line, and as a guy who used to control the DT in Madden and cause havoc, it is a big adjustment for me to play LB or Safety.

I still say at default sliders the QB's are too accurate most finish the games with 70% completion rates but if you disguise coverage's and mix them up the AI will make mistakes. Not as many as a human opponent will but they will.

YMMV of course depending upon what kind of game you want. However some slider bumps can fix all of these things. I don't look at slider sets on OS, if a part of the game is bugging me I adjust that slider to it feels right for me.

They price matched Wally World. So if you don't have Amazon Prime go to walmart.com and the other games on sale are FIFA 17 and Titanfall 2.
