I think that also doesn't include the camera either which you need for head tracking.

Still way cheaper than the Vive and Oculus (though specs-wise those are more powerful). I hope it does well, if only to help VR gain popularity.

Would love to jump in on VR but with 2 small sh!t-kickers running around my house the chances of me putting a VR head-set (and shutting out the rest of the world in the process) in the next few years is slim to none.

Found this intriguing......

A new mode on PlayStation VR was also revealed, called Cinematic Mode. Using Cinematic Mode users can play PS4 games on the PSVR headset on a giant virtual screen with three different levels of zoom. Netflix can also be viewed using Cinematic Mode, for those who prefer a more immersive streaming experience.

Sony does seem to be going all in on this. 50 games by the end of the year, and supposedly over 240 developers working on games.

Are they including a (cough cough) Incognito Mode based web browser in the headset too? If so, I'm in.

LOL. Oh, I'm sure sometime after release, I'd imagine some "film" company will put out a title or two. Or someone will discover how to web browse using their VR headset.

I'd be more interested in the PS VR if I didn't get motion sickness easily, and of course if it was less expensive. I still have a hard time believing VR is going to be fully supported for years to come.

I don't have a PS4, but this is nice to see. I already have my Oculus Rift on the way in about two weeks that I am super-pumped for, but this will be the real entry for most mainstream gamers.

Total PSVR cost will be like $500 with the headset, camera, and wands. That's still cheaper than the $800 for the Oculus/Vive.

Pre-orders sold out within 4 minutes on Amazon. 8O

I'm sure re-sellers are going to make a killing.

Hmm. Is this going to be like the Eite controller where nobody cared when it was announced especially for the price they were asking and once it was released everyone wanted it and was sold out everywhere?

I am still on the fence but I can't deny having second thoughts come my way.

I'm interested. Preorder on just the headset (not the bundle) is next Tuesday the 29th. Headset is $399...bundle is $499. I already have the camera and even a Move controller from my PS3 days :). The Cinematic Mode sounds great.

Nothing more hilarious than watching your wife or daughter play Rush of Blood on VR.

We set it up yesterday and it's been a huge hit. There's a half dozen games that I've played so far that are a lot of fun. Such a nice change of pace that gets the entire family involved.

I'll never pay that much money for one of these things, but a buddy of mine had it set up in his work station, and we tried it out. VERY trippy. It was some "undersea shark attack" demo, I think, but I could imagine it being a lot of fun with actual games. Still, the ask is just too much...warranted or not.

I'm just not that interested in VR in general until the resolution quality is significantly improved.

I'm not interested in VR until either Sony or Microsoft creates a killer PORN game.

It helped that my son paid half and I bought the bundle from someone off Craigslist for about $65 less than if I bought it new in the store. I paid the remainder as a holiday gift for him......his only gift this season. :) I wouldn't have otherwise bought it for myself.

Yeah, the resolution isn't the greatest but it holds its own with many of the games, but the immersion is really quite amazing. Most of the games are pretty inexpensive thanfully.

Sorry to say, but it's supposed to be awful.

I'll be picking up Rush of Blood and Thumper to start. Both $20 games, $16 each through Gamers Club.

Once Job Simulator drops a little in price, I'll grab that as well. The kids love that game. It's pretty damn fun.

Just saw a whole slew of games on the docket for the VR from now until mid to late summer.

Yeah, it wasn't very good. Overpriced and short. Oh well

Diablo,

Be sure to check out the beta of World War Toons if you haven't already. It's a first person shooter and is a lot of fun, although it did cause me a little bit of motion sickness. There are plenty of weapons and tanks. I lost my stomach on a couple catapults and drops, but that made it all the more crazy.

Pinball FX2 VR is out now. Looks sweet. A little pricey though. $15 for three games.

Most likely will pick it up later today.
