There's speculation according to the NY Post that the Mets might want to consider unloading either or both of their starters DeGrom and Syndergaard and go full rebuild. So who would be the likely suitors, well the Yanks are a prime match with their youth and they need pitching in the starting rotation. But what would they have to give is the biggest question mark because it would probably involve Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar and that's probably just to start discussions. With Brian Cashman running the team behind the scenes he's not one to overpay to get what he wants. He robbed the store getting Giancarlo Stanton from the Marlins.

Well at least one of my NY teams is doing well. :)

Kid is out of his mind right now. Bravos somehow hitting enough to make up for the shaky pitching staff. Bats definitely carrying the team.

He’s definitely legit. ROY. Sounds like the Bravos have the opposite issue the Phils have. Phils cant hit their way out of a wet paper bag right now. I am loving the fact that the Phils are in the race late in August but the lack of offense and poor defense will get them in the end. Still a hell of a lot better than the past few years which was like watching paint dry. I know you know that feeling DB.

Juan Soto for the Nats is another rookie gem.

Soto was the runnaway rookie of the year until about a week ago...Acuna Jr. is making a run at him tho. The crazy thing is he wasn't called up until a few weeks into the season AND he missed more than a month with a knee injury and he is still pushing for it. So fun to watch. Soto has otherworldly plate discipline...so impressive for a 19 year old.

And yes Diablo...it's much more fun when there are some meaningful games in August. Nothing makes me happier than watching the Nats implode from within. That said, they still have the team that can take the division if the Braves/Phillies falter.

Hopefully they implode so Bryce can join the Yanks, both sides are not saying it but from what i've read they want it to happen. Although the Yanks first need some frontline pitching to combat the BoSox who playing out of their minds.

Better not rule out the Braves in the Bryce/Machado derby this offseason. They'll have around 70 mil coming off the books and they'll need a RF (Markakis is a FA)...The Braves are in a really nice spot going forward when you have rookies and arbitration guys performing.

Cheap shot. Lot of good youngsters that will carry their team forward. Acuña, Soto and in another yet disappointing season where the Bosox are running away with everything, Jays have Guerrero Jr to look forward next season. He’s going to be better than his dad.

Phillies play the BoSox like champs and actually were the better team in 3 of the 4 games....then go and get boat raced 24-4 by the lowly Mets.

Run into this interesting article today on Vladi, Diablo. Watched a bunch of games from him in the minors and early preseason. There was a reason why Jays didn’t want to rush into an extension with J. Donaldson and based on his miserable year plagued with injuries, it was the correct call. And I personally like Josh but you gotta make room for this guy.

Like Acuña, like Soto, V. Guerrero is part of the next generation future stars that will raise eyebrows. Get your house in order. 8)

Well, being that his dad is a HOFer, if he’s better than his dad then he will be a Hall of Famer.

Many many many a minor league star has fizzled out in the majors for one reason or another. This year was really an anomaly having two guys like Soto and Acuna so to add a third would just be bonkers. We will see what happens obviously but let’s see him up for a few months first.

That’s said...Soto’s mini slump has worked out to Acunas advantage. He hit a ball in Stanton territory tonight in Miami. Goodness he’s fun to watch.

Stanton has got one of the more weirder swings for a slugger. Every time I watch him hit a HR it's like he swings straight across his body. I never see any lift in his swing, like you see with Aaron Judge or Gary Sanchez. Where's Gleyber Torrez fit in for ROY? He's been a revelation for my Yanks?

What in the hell has happened to the Phillies? What a disaster. They were up on the Braves by 2.5 games three weeks ago. Now they are down six (6.5 if Braves hang on tonight). Blowing s 6-3 lead at home in the second game tonight. Yikes.

And the Braves have barely been playing .600 ball over that period so they should not be pulling away. Keep it up tho!

Implosion. Offense has disappeared and, outside of Nola, their staring rotation has been woeful. Arietta (never a fan of his signing) has been disappointing. I honestly felt they were playing above their heads earlier in the year. They just aren’t there yet. Still a lot of positives this season. Hopefully they finish strong and get as close to 85 wins as possible.

One thing you mentioned earlier in the thread is true...it’s definitely cool that we are able to actually play meaningful games in September. The weird thing is that the NL is just so poor overall this year. The stud teams are all playing below their expectations which makes it easier for everyone in the NL. Anyone can basically make the World Series this year in the NL...only to get pummeled by the AL team who makes it. At least that’s the expectation.

Then again, I didn’t expect the Braves to bring up all their young guys and have them compete from the get go. It is so damn fun tho. The Braves are only getting started. TONS of money to spend next year on some upgrades...hopefully the bullpen is option 1,2 and 3. If they have a decent bullpen this division title would have been wrapped up a month ago. They are so bad.

The Braves have blown a 5-6 game lead late before, so obviously it’s not wrapped up yet, but that really hurt today in Philly.

Yeah the AL seems to be the dominant side. The Red Sox have been playing off the charts all year and the Yanks can't make a dent into their lead and won't. J.A. Happ has gone 6-0 since joining them from Toronto so a good pickup there. The surprise for me this year besides the Nats imploding are the Tampa Bay Rays who are playing over .500 ball and last month swept the Yanks.

Bosox are so good this year, it’s scary. Last night vs the Jays, they go scoreless for 7 innings as the young Jays keep them at bay. The bullpen takes over and literally one by one, their impressive lineup start lighting them up one by one led by Holt who’s been clutch as a pinch hitter this year.

C. Sale came back too from the disable list and they became the first team to reach the playoffs in a walk.

J. Martinez, boy what a year he’s having.

Cinderella team in the AL who may shock in the post season if they make it: the A's.
