XBox 360 - HDMI Possible with only a AV connector?

Post by JackB1 »

Hey all...

I have an older XBox 360 with just the standard AV output for the connection to the TV.
The only available input on my TV is an HDMI connection or a old school red, white and yellow
RCA connection. Is there a way to connect to HDMI? Are there any adapters out there for
early model 360's that didn't have an HDMI out? I googled it but couldn't find much. Was wondering
if anyone had done this?

those adapters look like they are for someone who wants a separate audio connection from their full hdmi connection.
That way you use your hdmi for video only and the red/white for a separate audio hookup.

What I need is something that goes from my old school AV output on my 360, to a HDMI input on my TV.

Hey 34....nothing much. Just don't have much reason to post here much anymore since I am not doing hardly any gaming anymore. I still have a 360 but mostly use it for streaming Netflix and Youtube.

You must be talking about the Stanley Cup? Yeah for some reason I wasn't as into it as the previous year, but still love the Boyz in Blue. I'll be back next time around! Thanks for the nice words....there are/were lots of great guys here and it was fun most of the time. Lots of good memories from here and on XBL.

Nice to see you and your Actionslacks still rocking at 33 1/3 forward revolutions, Jack!

So regarding my initial post, I found a way around the problem. The issue was we had someone mount our TV on the wall and they didn't leave room for me to plug in my 360 composite cords. However there is a HDMI input on the side of the TV which was still accessible. However my ancient 360 doesn't have an HDMI output. Hence the initial question. But I was able to squeeze my fingers behind the TV and somehow managed to connect the three composite plugs to the back of the TV, so no more issue. Morale of the story? Plug in your Xbox connections before mounting the TV.
