I am excited about Klopp but I have the same reservations that Rob has with regards to the organization.

Anyone watching the U17 WC? Some VERY impressive play by these kids. Great footwork, passing, strategy, etc.

Normally I'd say that the following link represents the only time all season that you'll see my beloved HUFC on the front page of the BBC website:

http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/34762819

The thing is, though, that we'll be on there again when Salford inevitably beat us. It'll probably be televised too. Come to think of it, we were live on the BBC when Blyth bloody Spartans beat us at the same stage last year. Written in the stars, this...

Ireland make the Euro finals, beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in Dublin. Martin O Neill was at Nottingham Forest when Clough was the catalyst behind the most incredible story in European soccer history back in the late seventies, so the team seems to be in good hands. He even looks to have Roy under control.

Hey, remember when almost every Irish football fan called Henry and France cheats because they benefited from a fortunate call in the box?

Nah, me neither.

No idea what you're talking about. Henry Who?? :|

Of course it wasn't a penalty. 100% accidental handball. In the Irish media, I've seen the words "debatable" and "harsh" used to describe the incident. At least it's a token, albeit feeble, acknowledgement of what was clearly a scandalous travesty of justice. In that sense, we're obviously no better than anybody else. We'll take a bad decision as long as it's in our favour and if it goes against us, we'll be bloody well up in arms. It'd be nice to see the laws of the game applied consistently but that seems to be a long way off, especially if referees don't have access to video replays on which to base their decisions. In the shady world of football "that's how it goes...everbody knows"

Of course, every football fan is the same - if it goes against Liverpool I scream bloody murder, if it goes in Liverpool's favor then I shrug and smile. It clearly a refereeing issue like you said - nothing to do with the team that benefits from it which is why I kinda poked fun at fans that called Henry/France cheaters. As if Jon Walters was going to turn around to the ref yesterday and say, 'No mate, it's not a penalty' and then deliberately miss it.

Well, except for seeing Sterling miss sitters from inside the 6 yard box for someone else now :D

Newcastle wins! McClaren is a genius.

Uh, more like even blind squirrels find nuts.

Still, a nice win.
