First off, yes I am a glutton for punishment :). I must admit, I've always had a soft spot for NBA Live so I'm hoping EA has a nice effort with this year's game. I just watched the visuals trailer and it looks way better than last year. Give it a look.

Did you really just link to a three sentence Destuctoid story that said that a trailer for a sports game didn't show gameplay?

I wouldn't say horseshit. It's much improved visually. Much improved.

Looks was the wrong word. I meant looks in general (gameplay, visuals, commentary, control, etc).

Yeah, I think it looks great, honestly. But its a trailer, so I have no idea how it will play. And apparently even what modes will be in the game.

Wish it was a college game, though.

Already delayed 3 weeks. LOL. What a joke. Good luck competing with 2k now.

It wasn't ever going to truly compete with 2K but, like I said, it would be nice to finally see definitive improvement. I'll get 2K and follow Live's progress. As I said before I'm looking forward to see how the game progresses. If MLB The Show (which many of us love) gained some competition from an EA comeback...or any developer for that matter...I would love it. Unfortunately, DB is correct. EA always seems to s*** the bed with Live. Time for the excuses to go away.

No sliders....in an EA game. I hate messing with sliders but that can't be good.

I'm following LIVE.. I think I've been EA'ized as I'm used to their models, graphics, etc.. 2k has been away far too long...

Live will be on EA Access on the 23rd so we will finally see what the devs have been working on. Should be interesting at least. As good as 2K15 is it has become a bit stale with me. Crossing my fingers for a refreshing experience.

Cross those fingers extra hard. I'm guessing a total bomb on tap.

On the 28th all XB1 members will get a demo similar to EA Access members since the PS4 version is getting a demo as well. So in this one case they are giving non Access members the same deal, just 5 days later. When you do something like this, well you're not too sure of your game IMO.

I disagree. Supposedly it has made huge strides since last year. Not that last year's game was worth s*** but it does look to be WAY better.

Watched the live stream, and while it looks much improved, it's a shell of a complete game compared to NBA 2K15. Still, it's making strides, but I simply don't trust EA when it comes to implementing a solid single game experience.

The problem is, I think I might want a shell of a game that isn't the bloated mess 2K has turned their game into. I seriously just got sick of trying to play 2K14, and this year's doesn't look better.

But the lack of play art on the floor and classic teams kind of killed any interest in wanting to play Live 14 much at all. I'm afraid that will be the same this year.

I'm looking forward to Live15. There is just something about the 2K game I just don't like. I prefer a mix of arcade and sim in my basketball games and I think Live15 will deliver that.

Just watched the replay of the live stream and I think it looks pretty good and most importantly looks very fun. I'll be picking this one up I do believe. Also it's apparently up via the EA access for Xboners right now. Lets get some impressions!

Alright, watched a little live stream on twitch and here are my takeaways.

Game definitely looks very nice visually. Much better than what I watched earlier this evening.

ESPN presentation is very cool.

Commentary is awful! Very rarely do you hear a player's name called.

No picks, no off the ball movement. Reminds me of their NCAA Basketball. No team play as far as I can tell. Too much one on one. Can this be patched?

Animations are better and player models look great.

It's a year away from seriously contending with 2K15

Just played a quick game and it's a decent game of hoops. I struggled a bit due to the control scheme being different than 2K15. There is still work to be done but its a major upgrade from 14. My initial reaction is that I won't buy it.
