Re: DiRT Rally
That rig is incredible.
Re: DiRT Rally
Watching him drive shows why there are some drivers out there that are way, way faster than I am. I just can't carry that kind of speed on those Wales stages.
You guys are in for a treat when it gets released on consoles. While there are still some things I'd change, such as a better damage model, overall it's a blast. Nothing beats getting a flat halfway through a stage and eventually driving a few kilometers on a bare rim. Depending on a front or rear failure, you really feel it in the steering. The game has been pure gold with me. Toss in both tarmac and gravel versions of Pikes Peak and you have a good experience. Do hope they add more venues.

Re: DiRT Rally
Gamespot just posted their review and calls it the "Dark Souls of driving games".
This game is right up there with RBR in that it teases you to go faster until you make a simple mistake and pay the price for that error.

Below is footage of the Xbox One version. Codemasters said it is on track to make the game 1080p and 60FPS by the time it launches on April 5th!

These damned videos have got me salivating. I've gone and re-downloaded Dirt 3 just to play the Rally stages. Having a ball, but...dammit...

Re: DiRT Rally
It's sort of like Project Cars but better because the developer focuses on less cars and tracks and pushes realism. Plus this developer isn't an arrogant d*****bag like with PC. I bought it on Steam during early access and it was worth every penny.tjung0831 wrote:What's the story on this one? Re: DiRT Rally
There was a bit of a online scuffle regarding this as some thing the developer isn't focusing enough on realism. It is a very good game, though not without its faults. Primarily the AI. While not as bad as Pcars, it does have its fair share of mindless driving at race start near the back of the pack. Unless they work on the "career" mode, it will be quite the departure from typical console game fare. That's not a bad thing - from the get go you can race any car on any track. About the only big negative I see for the console version is that you won't have access to the great number of mods. Given the small number of tracks in the game, having the mods available has been great.Rodster wrote: It's sort of like Project Cars but better because the developer focuses on less cars and tracks and pushes realism. Re: DiRT Rally
I've now gotten to the point where when I'm playing WRC5, I am jonsing to play DiRT Rally...so basically what I'm saying is DR is ridiculously good because WRC5 is good in it's own right. Just no reason to keep WRC 5 when DR is available on my PC (and console eventually).
I guess I'll have to get the console version too so I can race some of you cats.

Re: DiRT Rally
Pre-ordered this f*cker for XB1 yesterday, paid in full. Can't wait for DIRT Rally to arrive on consoles! My most anticipated title of the spring, with ease.

Re: DiRT Rally
Just watched the trailer and wondered if this was good. I figured a thread here would clue me in. The difficulty scares me a bit, but damn it looks like fun.

Re: DiRT Rally
OH DEAR GOD!
I've still got the original Dirt laying around here, I may have to pop it in just to get some practice runs in before this beauty of game drops.
I've been to the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb a couple times back in the day and it was such a fun event. I also use that mountain as my ultra running training grounds. I can't tell you how fired up I am that the console versions are getting Pikes Peak. HOT DAMN!

Both the dirt and tarmac versions are in the game. The peak is much more fun on dirt!pk500 wrote:DROOL ALERT: Full Pikes Peak, on gravel:
