I’ll see you tonight. Tried to get into MP action but it kept saying that it needed more players. Jumped straight into single action instead, it looks beautiful.

Thanks for Pre-Ordering Star Wars Battlefront II. Here’s an extra BETA code to share with a friend. WWGDY-4DCCW-FG66Y-6YW66-D6FCZ
I didn’t get a beta code. Was I supposed to get one or will I just have access to the download because of my preorder?

Get to the CO you preordered the game from. They’re supposed to give you a code. Mind you, I preordered my copy from Amazon and those f@ckers never sent me a code. I got mine thru GS when I recently returned Project Cars 2 and they told me to put a preorder with them.

I ordered mine from the Microsoft store right on the console so I guess I should be getting one. I’m going to be pissed if I don’t get one by this evening.

I preordered the digital deluxe version from the xbox store, didn't have to enter a code for the beta, just search star wars battlefront in the store and it showed up as a free download marked down from a price of 399.99 :)

Yep that’s what I did Vader and I got the game. I just played two rounds of multiplayer and it was pretty damn fast pace. Lots of action. Really really like it so far.

DID no one play this last night? I thought I would see some thoughts by now. I’m enjoying it but I’m really looking forward to the campaign in the full version.

Yeah not enough maps and content to get a full feel for the game, I played for a little over 3 hours before hockey last night, played every mode except starfighter assault, have to try that one today. Least favorite mode is strike on Takodana, some matches took forever and others were over in a couple of minutes. My favorite mode of Blast in the first game isn't playable until the final release, really looking forward to that one. Didn't see any way to play private matches in the beta and because it is a beta I think it just shows anyone playing it in the friends list that they are home.

Maybe I am missing something but I only was able to play Starfighter, some mode on Naboo and then some arcade challenges. Are there more planets to try?

Starfighter is fun but you can't play it with a mouse, it is impossible so I need to switch to a XB1 controller for it. It still seems to require little skill just luck in getting behind someone in the chaos.

I wasn't blown away by what I played, I think because of the limited map on Naboo

I played about three hours of the Beta including Galactic Assault and Strike. Enjoyed the B52 droid where I had a good streak going but being a beta the feed didn’t record. From Takodana, the weapons used by the Specialist was cool, love that sniper rifle. In general any automatic weapons were easier to target people albeit with less power. Bombs are pretty weightless, wished they had more effects in it.

If you got enough battle points you can buy ships and heroes, Darth Maul was cool.

Gotta see what Star cards do exactly, are there just perks to make your character stronger?

I’ll try Arcade mode tonight ( maybe that’s the only way to play friends) and see what’s like but playing in a field of 40 soldiers was fun.

I was over hyped for the game and underwhelmed by the beta. I don't like how they are making it more Battlefield with the classes. Im sure I'll have a lot of fun with the full game though.

The biggest complaint about the first game was they didn't have classes in it, personally I prefered how the first game was set up but hopefully the class system will grow on me in the full version. Played a bit of Starfighter Assault mode and I will say that the controls for it is a lot better than the previous game, I always dreaded piloting the ships in the first game but the new game it is a lot easier to fly and much more fun. Also to get other friends to join you in multiplayer there is a + icon in the top left of the screen where your avatar is and if you click on it you can see who else is playing and send an invite from there.

I am really bad, but I really, really like it a lot. I like the new classes. Once I started playing the Officer class, suddenly I wasn’t on the bottom of the leader boards and I was earning enough points to spawn in with special characters! Still haven’t been a hero yet in the MP but I was a Wookiee a couple of times. I also like the whole, new points thing in general instead of the randomness of becoming a hero last time around. Although I do find it frustrating that they tell you to stick to the teammates you spawned with to earn more points, but no one seems to ever try - they all just go running off helter-skelter. Maybe that will improve once the full game has been out a while, but I doubt it.

I have yet to come to terms with the star fighters. I was actually not terrible in the old game, and this is a huge adjustment. But I do think once I get used to it I will like it a lot. I love the different classes of ships, and I also like that they added an advanced control option.

The visuals are sick! Although there is some clipping and the occasional glitchy opponent movement (internet weirdness I’m sure) but man, it looks amazing, and I’m just on a day-one Xbox and a boring old 1080p plasma.

Can’t wait for the full game!

Anyone else having an issue where the beta doesn't recognize your controller? I have reset the console multiple times, and nothing. No button press other than the home button works.

Yes, I have. I do a hard restart of the console and it seems to solve the problem. It's very frustrating, however.

Yeah, I did that a couple times yesterday and it fixed it, but last night, it never did. I know it's a beta, so as long as it gets fixed, I'm good, but yeah, frustrating. Very fun game, however. MUCH improved over the first.

Beta extended for 2 more days, I'm ready for the full game, need more maps!
If you haven't yet gotten around to trying out the Star Wars Battlefront II beta, or you simply haven't had your fill, you're in luck. Electronic Arts has extended the beta an extra two days, providing players with more time to see what the sequel has to offer.

The beta had been scheduled to end earlier today, but it will now instead run until Wednesday, October 11. EA didn't say why it made the change or if any additional content would be introduced. As it stands, you can sample four modes: Galactic Assault, Starfighter Assault, Strike, and Arcade. The first three are online multiplayer modes that range in maximum player count (going as high as 40 in Galactic Assault). Arcade is a 1-2 player mode with offline split-screen support.

I enjoyed the Beta overall, in fact I did use the extra couple of extension days with gusto although by 7PM PST, it was all over last night. There are still glitches here and there, the controller not connecting at times, some players being overpowered by the use of Star Cards and this is where I am bit concerned. See I don't mind upgrading my weapons or playing a Hero with my hard earned points but if the loot crates can be purchased with real currency, then some players maybe at a disadvantage from the get go. There are hints that EA may go that route and the fact that you can equip more Star Cards as you level up is ridiculous.

I reached level 11 before the Beta was over but at level 14 and with 3 extra bonuses, a Heavy class is already better than everyone else's one, so if someone pays a lot for the max level unlock, he'll go with a huge plus advantage.

I prefer the original game of leveling up, playing different challenges to get the weapons that you want etc. But in age of MUTs, FUTs and HUTs, real money talks and EA may just continue the trend with SWBF2.

Here's hoping they can change things for the final release if enough people complain about it and improve the progression system. Other than that, I had fun, wished they was another map to play on, looking forward to a month from now.

That is my #1 concern as well, I already feel at a disadvantage as people with 3 SC assigned are whacking me with my 1. I'm holding out hope the SP campaign is more than like 4 hours, I'm on the fence right now about buying this, especially how fast the first one dropped in price.
