FYI, it’s good to see the MLB focusing on prostate cancer awareness with blue caps worn by the players in today’s games. Similar to what they do with breast cancer awareness days.

Fellas, I've got some tragic news to share... Tim Scott, aka DivotMaker, passed away on November 7th after his lengthy bout with Prostate Cancer :( Mark Ranich (MERACE) did some digging after we hadn't heard from Tim in over three weeks and found his Obituary a couple of days ago. This is sobering and sad news... I had become acquainted with him back in the late 90's playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour and interacting with him in forums. He's been a vital player in the cybergolf world and brought a lot of energy and passion into this hobby. I'm going to sorely miss his presence and energy.

It's shocking to read news like this after hearing of some of the positive reports Tim had shared until a couple of months ago. It just goes to show how aggressive Prostate Cancer can be. Tim made a concerted effort to warn guys about the dangers of this disease. I plan to respect and honor his efforts and intentions by getting the checkups I should be getting along these lines and I urge others to do so.

Here's a link to Tim's Obituary: https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/houst ... =190703312

Thanks for all the memories Tim!

f***.

My memory of him is all the times he'd come in and talk about how amazing Tiger Woods Golf was and how everybody would pile on saying it sucked. He always had great info though and was never a dick when debating the game. Over time I felt like he became a member of the community here and all the 'animosity' about arguing over a stupid video game faded away. Poor guy.

Oh, man: This is a punch in the gut. Tim was a good dude. Passionate about this community and golf games. He will be very missed around here.

Sh*t, I cringed just reading about some of his treatment. The dude fought so hard and was so positive despite his struggles.

Fellas, as John said, we can best honor Tim's memory by getting our prostate checkups and also playing the hell out of video games, especially golf.

Godspeed, Tim. We'll miss you, pal. Rest easy.

So sad, RIP Tim.

I lost a coach in college to prostate cancer, to this day I get checked at least once year. Don't count on just blood work, get a physical exam as well guys.

To John and Mark, thanks for the update. Not the news I wanted to hear. Ever. I am kind of in disbelief still, he was indeed a passionate man. Golf, football talks. We know he fought hard thru his updates and at one point even seemed to have won the battle. It was a long battle.

Thanks for your golf insights Tim, thanks for sharing your cause in this forum, you’ll be missed.

Just terrible news, my condolences to his family.

Damn, I was wondering why we hadn't heard from him after he posted in the Golf Club thread that he had had a setback. That was on 10/24...then he went silent.

RIP buddy...

Near as I can tell, he's the first guy we've lost from this board (and SR) in the almost 20 years we've been going. Amazing we made it this long. Still horrible news.

Second, I believe. We lost Maurisio Martinez a year or two ago. Can't remember his screen name. Mobiggins? But he was my FB friend because of gaming and DSP, and I know he passed at a very young age. Less than 40, I think.

Ya, thanks John for posting the tragic news of Tim’s passing here and on the HBS forums.

I often fail to come up with adequate words about friends that I’ve lost. All of the posts above perfectly and eloquently describe Tim and our feelings towards him.

We’ve lost a big and passionate voice for video golf and Tim will be sorely missed by the community and me. :(

Very sad news. Always enjoyed reading his golf posts and insights. And trying to best him on the virtual course. His presence will be missed greatly. I will definitely heed his warnings on prostate and getting things checked regularly.
Prayers for his family.

Thanks JC/Mark for letting us know. RIP Tim!

Heartbreaking to hear of his passing. He fought so hard with such optimism. Very unfair and may he R.I.P.
