NBA 2K15

Post by LAking »

I haven't bought a basketball video game in years but this news brings a smile to my face;

Too bad they aren't making the NHL series anymore.

If history is any indication...I'd be very cautious. Even with a high end machine (at the time), the NBA 2k series has always been a dog on the PC. You really have to scale down the graphics to get anything remotely playable/smooth. I've always opted for the console version, even if it's graphically inferior, just because of frame rates.

That said, this game is gonna be bananas w/ a year of graphical tweaking under it's belt. It was fantastic last year. Can't wait for the new version.

Weird--I've always had the NBA series on ultra everything without any framerate issues.

To be fair, I didn't play 14 on my new PC, so it may have gotten better, but every year prior to that, it was a dog, at least on my setup (which is usually mid to high end).

New trailer for NBA 2K15. Strange choice of music. Graphics seems like a bit of a downgrade but maybe not fair to say in such a short trailer. Shaq is hilarious!!

Hey, music from when I still watched the NBA!

Are they putting classic teams in the game, and will they ever get the Phoenix Sun in from the 90's?

I hope so. As I understand it, they've had a lot of trouble getting Barkley's permission to use his likeness. Getting him for the Dream Team was lucky.

That is correct. And a travesty.

I hope they expand the classic teams available, too. It's so much fun playing head-to-head with them, especially with old rivals.

'NBA 2K15' offers option of 3D faces

LOS ANGELES -- "NBA 2K15" is angling for a slam dunk with an innovative new way to put players in the game.

The developers of the interactive basketball franchise are adding the option for gamers to digitally graft lifelike 3D renditions of their faces onto virtual players in the series' latest installment, set for Oct. 7. The process uses the camera for either the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One game consoles to create faces for wannabe Kobe Bryants and Kevin Durants.

Well, as expected, its absolutely insane how good this game is. They've tightened up the controls and somehow improved on the graphics of last years version. This is definitely a showcase game for next gen...no doubt about it.

Great to hear. Not surprising. I'll be playing tonight.

On a slightly similar note, I read a column yesterday about how the next generation systems are just now (as compared to launch games) starting to become 'next gen.' I can't recall where I read it but it was very interesting and exciting.

NBA 2K has been my favorite sports game since 2K5. Very much looking forward to picking this up after work.

I'll be starting a league on XB1 for friends if anyone is interested.

LOL...you're welcome.

For games I know I'm going to buy and keep in my collection, the 9pm PST start time for pre-ordered and pre-downloaded games is awesome. Oh, and it actually works on the PS4, unlike the awesome Forza Horizon 2 launch on the XB1.

Face scanning feature is not working for me. Wasted 30 minutes of my time getting failed scans or distorted images. There are articles on this mess. Not that it matters all that much to me, but I was able to easily scan my face perfectly with the old xbox 360 cam (pre-Kinect) in RB6 Vegas.

Yeah, me too. Tried like 3 times and got weird results (2 mouths, etc.).

Oh, the 2K TV chick is hot as balls.
